light question

I am about to start growing for the first time and have a 4ft T5 Fluorescent light system with 10000k lights. I used to have a salt water reef tank witch is about 3 feet long. Can i incorporate this into my grow house or is the T5 lights enough?

i'd need to know more about your reef light but it should be doable.

...btw, those 10000Kelvin bulbs are way too blue to be any real use to you and you should replace them with either a mix of 2700K and 6500K bulbs or you could do what i did and just use 4100K's.

peace, bozo

They'll make good seed starting lamps but I wouldn't rely on them to give you a meaningful harvest. Remember in addition to light temperature (Kelvin) you also need to make sure you have enough lumens (at least 15000 per square ft just to play the game ). A 400w HPS typically throws 50,000 lumens. A 1000w HPS usually throws around 150,000 lumens. Try and find a replacement bulb online and see what the lumens are. That will tell you how much more lighting you'll need
