Hey everyone. i was just wondering if this aquarium/plant light is better then my cfl. their both 15 watt, 18" fluorescent tubes. I had the aquarium/plant light when i started but i switched to the cfl when my plants just started on their 2nd pair of leaves.

T12 and CFL have similar colors and results. T5 is the new thin-tube florescent and they have multi-colored layers, offing improved results.

I would stick with the cfl, because it produces the same amount of light, but over the area of the small bulb instead of an 18 inch bulb. Much easier to direct the light where you need it and concentrate it.

I also was wondering if the 4 foot fluorescent tubes that i have 4 of spread out the 25 watts they produce evenly throughout the 4 feet or if it just produces 25 watts everywhere close to where the light touches?
