light mover vrs plant density

I have a 3'x8' grow closet containing 8 plants lighted with 1000w on a 6' light mover. The last crop was not as dense as earlier crops without the mover. I'm thinking about playing with distance of travel and speed of mover on next crop. Any suggestions?

What are day/night temps? I find that fluffy airy buds is often due to high temps

The last crop had high temps 85deg nite, 95deg days, summertime, forgot to mention the plants are grown in a recurculating deep water culture. The closet is in the garage, hard to control the temperature.
