Light (HPS, W) for 1 sativa plant

Trick question, there's no right answer. Give it as much as it takes to keep it well lit depending on size. 150 watts for a small plant minimum.

If you LST and keep it short you could just use a single 150w HPS.

Personally if you like the strain i would take multiple clones grow them under some CFL's for a few weeks and then flower them all under maybe 400w or 600w HPS.

If you only plan on the 1 plant then just go with the 150w keep your canopy nice and even and spread it out keeping the sativa maybe less than 2ft tall total. Keep it tied down for the whole grow.

1 sativa plant LST around in 1m2. If I remember then for 1m2 250W or 400W HPS is enough.

fuck it go big or go home.

Get yourself 10 x 1000 watt hps bulbs and light that plant up..

Just kidding..

For a great yield I would use a single 400 or 600 hps..

Trust me 150 watts is shit and you'll be sorry you ever purchased that light.

I have 2 x 150 hps sun system lights from when I first started growing then I went to 2 x 400 hps and now I am using 2 x 600 HPS.

I would only use the 150 watters again if i needed to in an emergency. like if my ballasts went to shit in the middle of flowering, but then I also have 2 x 400 watters so the 150's are redundant in my opinion.

Peace and Happy Growing
