Light emergency

I have a 400w ceramic metal halide with a magnetic ballast hooked up to a timer. i was changing the daylength, and i switched it off for a second, and when i switched it back on it wouldn't light up. the timer is designed for 1725w, so its not that. can a bulb or a ballast break from something like this? the ballast is still humming. i don't think any wires are fucked up. the bulb appears to have no electricity inside of it.

You need to let the bulb and ballast cool for 15 minutes or so and try again. You do not want to off and on a ballasted light like this. A lot of ballasts won't let you do it so may just be that. Give it a little while and let us know what happens.

Yeah it doesn't tell you that shit on the ballast or anything, one of those things you have to learn for yourself.

no they dont tell but good thing u signed up for riu so we could tell u
called learning now u can answer that ? when someone post and sound like a pro lol

I about fliped out when that happend to me. had a power outage as I was in the back of my room. Trying to get out power came on and only the light over my clones came on. Messed with everything for 15 min then one last chance be for I tested the balb I plugged it in and it worked. I could feel my heart drop. I thought it fryed the ballest.

Nothing quiet so fun as all the lights going out and not being able to see anything. Good thing there isn't a bunch of delicate plants in there.
