light dilemma

I have run into a problem. I currently have plants which are 2 weeks into 12/12 from seed. I turn the lights on and off manually every 12 hours I do not have a timer. Plants haven't shown sex but are on 4th node roughly. I am going away for thanksgiving and my problem is that I won't be able to switch the lights on/off and I can't have anyone do it for me as nobody knows and I intend to keep it that way. So I'm left with 2 options. To keep the lights ON or OFF for the 3 days that I'll be away. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice because I'm not sure what will be best in this situation
 
I think for safety reasons you should leave the lights off for the 3 days you'd be away.GL
I'm sure you know but a timer is only $6,they sell them .....everywhere....lol

Ya that's a good point about safety. Both options are pretty much not in my favor I don't think I'm gunna rig a timer before I leave

NOTHING....they might be wilted a little(or a lot:))but it's the no water for three days that's worse......12/12 from seed I would still expect it to start to flower within the next two weeks or so.

hey im jus startin..this will b my second grow..first indoors...im useing random bag seeds can i put them right to 12-12 after germination...i dont have alot of room...will this be ok...i have 2 plants im gonna do with 2 cfls for each covering all the light spectrum on timers...is this a good idea?

Ya u can put them on 12/12 as soon as they pop from the soil. Theyll grow smaller and and show sex about 3-4 weeks. Also the size of your pot will keep them relatively small since space is an issue

ya i jus have a lil set up jus tryina maintain so i dont spend so much buyin it might as well try this..tanx

I guess if your able to turn the lights on and off every frickin' day for months it's not a big deal...
...BUT YEAH...probably the most common of all growers pieces of equipment.I'm pretty sure we all have at least two or three timers.I have 5:)

Right? There's almost a whole week from now until thanksgiving to run out and get one. Even time to get one in the mail if you use Amazon
 
Im going to guess by the username he may be young and hiding it since he said he wanted no one knowing/touching lights. Maybe no money to get one?

I under stand he is doing 12/12 but wouldnt 24/0 be better while hes gone? plant would veg decent for a few days. He is still in veg mode anyway...

I can attest that leaving one in complete dark for a few days will do no harm . i had to kill a plant off due to space and left it in a closet and like 5 days later it still looked great. just wanted water badly.
