Light Burn

Hey guys I've been using multiple forums especially this one to learn how to grow but I never thought about creating an account for advice until now. I wanted to know what I can do about the burned part of my plant.

I'm currently on my first grow; it's blue dream feminine. Yesterday I checked my plants to find that one of them outgrew my grow lights, when I checked I found them flat under the grow light and when I moved them away they were taller and had unfortunately suffered light burn. I flipped to flower on July 1st but a few days before that I had pruned them and raised my grow lights thinking that would be enough. I knew they would explode in growth but I was still surprised and it doesn't even look like a pruned them anymore. I do regret not topping them at least once during veg. Am I supposed to cut off the burned parts? If so where do I cut them from?

The first picture is right after I checked on them and you can see they outgrew the height of the lights. The second picture is the height I have them at now and I was hoping for advice on how else to raise the lights. I want to raise them to the top but I'm using what they came with so all I did was loop the black string into the other clip to shorten the length it allows the light to hang, but I dont think it's high enough. Third and fourth are pictures of the light burn.

I am growing the 3 plants in 3 gallon fabric pots inside a 2x2 tent, it was supposed to just be one plant but all 3 seeds popped. I attempted 2 seeds one at a time before this and none popped which is why I tried 3 at once but yeah, couldn't bring myself to get rid of the extra 2. In veg the tallest plant (light burned) and shortest plant (behind the 2 plants in the second picture next to the fan) suffered badly with calcium deficiency and although my calmag arrived late I was able to save them before flipping. The plant to the right never suffered and I hope it stays that way. All 3 are the same seeds though, blue dream feminine from ilgm. I'm not sure if any of this info is necessary but I've seen people post and then told there wasn't enough information lol

Hey welcome :bigjoint: Jesus it's fairly fried isn't it at this point I think you have maybe 2 options either raise the light but I'm sure you don't have more room or you would have do so already or maybe try bending the branch over but try be gentle so you don't actually snap the branch I'd say you might have to bend it and consider tieing it after you have bent it over because at this point it will just fry even more if you leave it like that, what is the light exactly?? Wattage?? Can you turn the intensity down maybe??

The lights I'm using are ViperSpectra XS1000 and yes I can turn the intensity down. I shouldn't have a problem bending it, I tested it earlier but I need something to tie it with so that's plan 2 but I'm gonna try to find something else to tie the light closer to the top which is plan 1, maybe I'll even do both. As for the burned part can I cut it off? Where should I cut it from? I was gonna simply gonna cut off the burned bits but I'm considering cutting off that whole stem around where the burns happened.

Discard the original wire hangers and clips.Get a bit of wire and thread it through the holes in the light on both sides.

Your door walls appear very wet.
I'd do some High stress training and snap those branches over by 12 - 15".
But most will say lst - Low stress training by attaching string or wire near tops about 4- 6" down and bend them all down evenly. Tie off to top of pots.
Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for the example that's exactly what I needed! I'll see if I can get some wires tomorrow to mimic what you did there. The walls being wet is something I have been concerned about, should I simply wipe them off? Does it mean anything the fact that it's happening? I have a soil meter which is what I've been using to check when to water, but it only checks for PH/Wetness/Light. I believe I have a device to check humidity that I ordered a while back but I have to look for it.

For the HST or LST I'm heading into the 3rd week of flowering so I thought it would be too late, I also wanted to save that technique for my next grow because I wanted to do this first grow without too much manipulation. I will look into it though.

Thank you so much for the advice!

The wet appearance on the wall its the distorted mylar it's made that way to stop hot spots forming from lights I have it in my tent aswel man good idea for the lights tho

Humidity and temp very important at your stage because if humidity rises to high or low can impact final weight big time and can completely stunt growth if too far off you wanna be aiming for between 45-55 relative humidity to be on the safe side because as the buds grow bigger you run the risk of bud rot if humidity gets to high, search up how to safely bend cannabis branches so you don't snap them and like the other guy said tie down what you do bend to the tops of the pots so they stay bent down

Actually it is kinda wet. The back and right walls are dry but the left and front where the tent opens are both wet. You can kinda see it on the second picture.

Thank you so much! You guys are taking a lot of my worries away by pointing me with the right information and where to look.

You hasn't mentioned what extraction you are using.
I didn't notice any fans?
Ah, I see a white fan on the floor

Ah really apologies my mistake i thought it was just the tent texture yeah moisture like that and condensation will spike the humidity up way high

Good point maybe increase air flow in the tent should help with the condensation and wet on the walls

Yeah unfortunately that's all I was able to afford for now, I'm paying for a summer course so I can finally get my bachelor's degree this August so what I do is open the tent frequently to let air exchange happen. My room is pretty cold I always have the AC on. It also gives me a lot of time to admire the plants and give them some music lol

If you get time between your next grow and finishing this one look up lst (low stress training) it can be a very effective way of helping to control height and stretch when transition from veg to flowering stage and with a little bit of topping at the right time can be a very effective way of giving you a wider plant instead of just a tall tree if you get me lst will help you create more bud sites aswel to increase your final yield:bigjoint:

Then it's time for me to wipe these walls, they have been thay way through all of veg (6-7 weeks) and I thought it might be from condensation but I failed to think about humidity problems that could arise.

I'll definitely be looking into that. My next grow is going to be Northern Lights after this one. I do plan to top that one and will definitely be doing training on that one.

Ya see an A/C isn't needed unless your struggling with rising temps all the time your sweet spot should be between 21-25 degrees celsius for optimal growth and for overall health above or below a few degrees can have an impact on growth especially when buds are forming, if you could get a small oscillating fan mounted near the door of the tent somewhere would defo increase airflow and decrease sitting stagnant air, the ac might be the cause of your condensation on the walls if you get a temp/hygrometer off amazon there quiet cheap and get one with a probe on it that will give you a sign of how far over or under the optimal you are hope you get it sorted mate we all started out the same unsure but anyone here will help with any questions as we're all here too learn more hope some of this helps you best of luck

But wait guys, so that burned bit how do I cut it off? If it was veg I would've just taken that whole branch off that leads to the burned section, but because of the stage it's at now I don't wanna cut it wrong. Or am I supposed to just leave it?

The guys on this site are A1 I was unsure of my 1st grow using led as I only knew hps and I hadn't a clue they helped me with answers to questions I had and this was the result of there opinions and honesty
