light bulb what to do with this one

ok i picked up 2 of these bulbs today once i got home and opened them i was like shit the sockets to big and i was online reading some of the only info i could find on these and now i think they need a ballas. if anyone knows please let me know is it worth keeping these for 10$ each. were and what kind of ballas do i need to run these ther are 65watter that make 500watts and around 5000lumens or higher but im not sure.

no ballast! cfl's have them built in. that is a mogul based light. most house lights are medium base. just get a mogul base socket or a medium to mogul converter and it will work fine. it is a $2 fix! enjoy!

mogal base and it should have an internal ballast.

hmmm so your sayin if i can put power to it it will start. i did so to one of them and it didnt start.

with the pics i add i know that would be right for how it would be wired if it didnt need a ballas but hmm idk im not a pro with lighting and stuff like that.

ok i found out i need a ballast what can i do, can i got to home depo or lowes and buy a ballast that can handle a 65watt fluorescent bulb. im a big noob to this.

i'd just get new bulbs. sounds like a lot of work. you can get the right ones for a couple dollars.

wow i had wrong spec of lights b4 becuz i had 1 20watter and 5 13watters they are all more on the 3000k scale wow can that cause plant probs crazy wish i would have known im gettin more of these bulbs soon.


right now i have these 3, and 3 of the 13watters witch are wrong spec for veggy. im gonna get aleast 3 more of what i just bought.

Yea those will work for veg. After that for flowering youll want to get the like 4 of the 100w ones like this
TopBulb.com - 105 WATT CFL 2700K
or these
TopBulb.com - 65W 2700K SUPER BRIGHT COMPACT FLUORESCENT

Depending on how many plants you are gonna grow you might need more.

well i was hopin to use what im takin out. the lower kelvins of light. i got 5 bulbs that are aroudnt the 3000k mark 1 20watter and the 5 13watters thats what i was using till now i didnt relize i had the wrong kelvins in light becuz im a noob:?:-|owell i know now.
