Light Bleaching?

I keep having bleaching on the upper leaves, closest to the light. No heat stress, just bleaching. I bough a light meter a few days ago, and was getting readings up over 8,000 lumens per square foot, and was wondering if that was excessive with any CO2 supplementing? Keep in mind, that I'm still perfecting my grows, so I've yet to have a perfectly smooth grow from start to finish,(4th generation. 5th, so far so good.lol) so stresses from deficiencies, PH, etc....are likely contributing to the plants resistance. I just wanted to know if anybody else had any issues with bleaching before?

Some people may tell you that bleaching does not happen, but all light have hot spots, and you can bleach them. Just move the light up a little or move the plants around unde the light. Once bleached they seem to stay bleached.

Best of luck.

I have one that's getting bleached pretty bad right now, and maybe I'll dig the camera out later and take a pic or two, so they can take a look. It's definitely not a nutrient deficiency, because the leaves get very light colored, way lighter than any deficiency I ever seen. Also, it's only the leaves that are getting pounded with light, and no others.

I'm going to have to rearrange them the best i can and try putting the shorter ones in the hotspots. I can't back off the lights anymore because that will push me below 3,000 lumens at the outer edges of the growroom. The bleaching doesn't seem to effect yield or potency, so it isn't a huge problem, it's just something i wanted to ask about and see if anybody else ever dealt with it. Thanks for trying to help though, I'll let you know if rearranging them takes care of it. :)

Bleaching definately exists. My 2x1000w set up will bleach when the lights are closer than 18" from the canopy. At 2ft I'm fine though. The footprint of the bleaching is the same as my hoods.
