Light Bleaching? Anything I can do?

Hi,

So I just finished the stretch of flower and now in the beginning of week 4. I thought things were going excellent... the plants have been in perfect health and the stretch was insane! but too insane! it filled out my entire space to the very top! and now my light cant possibly be adjusted to go any higher... I have just noticed today on a couple of the buds that are nearer the top that there are some small yellow/white dots at the very peak of the buds. I fear this might be light bleaching that will only get worse? What do you advise I do? I have tried tying over a few branches to make them a little lower but there really isn't much room to move and the stems will break now if I try manipulating them. Do I just let them go? or turn down the light intensity? What would you all recommend?

Thanks :)

Hard to get a picture of it. hopefully you can see the problem on the last 3 photos.. if you look from different viewing angles you should see what I mean

The weird thing is I have no other signs though? like aren't the leaves supposed to curl upwards or get yellow tips or burn if they are getting too much heat from the light? I'm not 100% sure but it looks like bleaching to me. only the buds in the top 10-15% of height seem to be effected..

You can about make it out on this photo but it's still hard to get a focus... Theres about 5-6 tops effected right now. not too many but still... they are top colas which should produce weighty buds so obviously if I can avoid it somehow I will...

Does light bleaching effect smokability or potency? Thanks

I did some supercropping in early flower but i was under the impression that after 2 weeks into it you shouldn't mess with the plants because they will likely snap? I have tried tying them down some and adjusted the light to 80% power to see if that helps. Everything below the sort of 30cm mark from the light appears to be fine. I have about 5 or 6 bud sites that are effected. They are drinking lots now. I no longer feed them by hand i have a reservoir and they drink about 15 litres within 3 days between 5 plants. I will put my extractor fan on full speed now as well but i dont think its heat stress because the rest of the canopy is happy. Pretty sure its just light bleaching i had it once before but just on 1 bud. Now ive got it on 5 lol. Ultimately maybe will only effect 1 or 2 gram anyway? Im hoping its not that bad but i guess time will tell

If you don't want to supercrop and snap branches just finish the run and consider the height they stretch for next time, maybe look into another strain. I would honestly just let them bleach.. The few buds that are affected aren't going to ruin your entire bag and in my experience bleached weed smokes fine.

That sounds like a plan. Would you recommend i keep the light on full power then for the sake of the rest of the canopy? Or leave it at say 80% to avoid a little of the bleaching? I dont know what will end up doing better for me in the long run... probably just leaving it on full blast right?

You can super-crop any branch as long as it isn't woody.
Simply knead the stem in between your fingers to crush the fibers until the stem flops.
That's as simple as it gets.
I did it to cut her down in size and I had a big open space in the center. Also got that branch closer to the center of the light.

Zip tie the light to the roof of the tent.
It is at the roof of the enclosure lol. I just bought yoyo hangers a few weeks ago and now the light is as high as it can go. the only question that remains is should I lower the power to 80% for the rest of the run? or should I just 100% it and disregard the 2-3 gram that gets bleached from the light? not sure how much of a difference 80%-100% power will make on my total yield? I don't know if I dare risk super cropping the biggest cola in the room lol I definitely do not want to lose that lol

stop being a pussy.
go watch a couple of videos on it
Pinch bend it over to an area that isnt congested and even out the canopy
get some long bamboo stakes and twist ties if you super crop it too much and the cola needs extra support.,

I couldn't give any sound advise using lighting other than LED cuz that's what I use.. but I'm still no pro there either. But I can say that I have seen someone on RIU that had a major issue.. buds touching the ceiling.. they super cropped the big branches with big buds and they gained like 12 inches distance from the light. Using same kind of light. I'll see if I can find it. Not trying to pressure you.. but you do wanna save your plant from further issues. Just wanna plant the seed (No pun intended) and you can do as you see fit.

Sorry I kinda over sold my last statement. The plant looks to be in early flower. But here is the thread.

You plant is doing similar to what mine do when they get too close to the double endeds, I think its the light intensity. Can you raise the light at all?

Remove the yoyo hangers. Place key rings in the 4 corner hanging loops of the light and use just the D ring to clip it to the support the yoyo's are hanging from. Should give you 4-5 inches at least.
