Ah dude! popped by and was about to say looking lovely and healthy, kept scrolling and BAM. From the posts towards the beginning of the thread, after my first beans failed to crack i opted to pop only regular TH gear instead of the feminized freebies, although i'd rather have learnt about their tendencies from some random douche who's crop got owned, not a nice normal fella :(

woah. thats a real damn shame. they looked so great... i guess where im confused is you had your last grow with buku go hermie and ive seen a good amount of other peoples go hermie. i cant figure out why the hell TH seeds would even offer this as female if theyre really gunna be hermies. this sucks cuz i still have fem seeds :/.
I totally agree...this might have put me off of purchasing feminized seeds in general. Honestly, I would probably have better luck if I sprouted some of the seeds I've found in some of the stuff I've gotten from the local dispensaries.

Thanks to all who have posted their condolences about the BUKU once again going hermaphroditic. In their place, I will continue this journal with the Albert Walker and OG #18 ;) They are definitely sexed 100% female and I sampled some of the dried buds that the grower had and they were phenomenal. Granted, he grows in soil...and that can be a pretty substantial difference in the end product...but at least the bar is set ;) I will update with pics of the new girls soon!

Its been a long time since I have posted but I just wanted to give a different opinion on the T.H. Seeds Buku feminized....its fucking great. I am at day 46 of flowering at set to harvest no later than 10 days I would imagine, first time I have grown this strain and I am a convert. I ordered 10 seeds, all sprouted all female, not one male flower (in fact at the same time I sprouted 12 other feminized seeds and none of them turned hermie either) not trying to criticize but are your conditions right? (RH,PH,PPM,CO2,Temp,Consistent light schedule). Of the 10 plants they are all very similiar in build which is very nice on an ebb and flow table making for a very even canopy, all plants are nice with sticky sparkily lime green buds, one plant in particular is something special, with a cola the length and breadth on my forarm (I am a large man) on a plant that is under 3 feet tall, it will have a place in my mother room for a long time I suspect.

In case it helps anyone growing this strain currently. My setup is a 1000w hps over a 4x4 table, GH nutes, Just Micro and Bloom, originally in the same ratio as the lucus formula but early on I ran into some mag problems so I changed the ratio to about 1.3 micro and 2 bloom and ran my nutes starting in flower at 1000 ppm and running up to around 1300. I am in rockwool- 6in cubes set on 6 in slabs. and I keep the PH as close to 5.8 as I can get it without going under. My RH stays between 55 and 65 % and temps between 79-84. I have a 6in 450 cfm fan pushing air in a 840 cfm fan pulling air out and a large phresh filter with a 1300 cfm hooked up. 3000w in flower. I am confused about all the bad press I have been seeing on these plants. and the ones i'm growing are definitely not sativa dominate, show great bud formation, tight nodes, a nice skunky musty odor. Not only that, they may be the first plants I have grown that the breeders harvest time is even remotely close, advertised 7 1/2 weeks and I am probably going to chop at 8. At 46 days the gland heads have all swollen and look near bursting and have just started there descent into cloudy ripness. Give it a chance, if you give these plants what they want they will reward you. I have Buku, Cheese, White Rhino, Bubble Gum, Pinapple Chunk and C99 flowering right now, Hands down the Buku's are the fastest and heaviest strain in the garden.

Thanks for the info :) glad to know someone is having better luck than me. I'm never one to discount any mistakes I may be making...however the BUKU seeds I have sprouted( I only got a 5 pack) were all sativa dominant( look at my pics) and EXTREME hermies. It's not like they started female and turned...the first sex to show was male flowers in all cases. No other plants I have grown from seeds ( including other feminized ones) have gone hermie on me, nor has a known female ever turned hermie on me. It's hard for me to think that I caused it....but who knows.

I'm still a believer in the BUKU ...you are absolutely right in the sense that they are extremely vigorous and grow at a fantastic rate. If the plants I had were actually females, I would be VERY happy right now...they were really looking fantastic. I will go here again, probably just not with feminized seeds.

Thats not unexplainable i guess but go to RIU ofrums and find me # more successsful BUKU grows and the compare them to those that are not and im sure you will find a problem there not all of these growers including myself are killing our beans just to bad rap a strain the strain is really unstable and hermie prone no-matter what your results are the lack of success from verry good growers on this sight shows that you had some luck with them thats fine but others many others have not!!Not only that nut it bugs me to have someone come on telling all of us that its not the seeds that are bad how do you know? just because yours were good.

ill agree that if you have the time and space to pop regs then wait to see which are fem... that may get you the best keepers as well, but i always buy greenhouse fem seeds (about 2-4 5 packs per month) and i have never ever had any of theirs go hermie. its really about the way the breeders make their beans fem. over flower, chemicals, whatever it may be... passes on those stressed genes

I got my buku from speedyseedz. Not sure what bank that came from. They are still babies how long until they get their second set of leaves. They are probably 3" tall right now

Hey all! Sorry it's been a little bit since i've updated ....life has taken over and things have gotten busy ;)

Anyways...here is an update on what is happening:

Chem Bubble: is vegging in soil ( thought I would give soil a shot...using Jacks Classic ). I've got a clone of this and I want to do a comparison grow ....this will be a seperate thread with a hydro-vs-soil using clones from the same plant...so it should be interesting to see how different they turn out.

Albert Walker @5 weeks flower:

Albert Walker @5 weeks into flowering : looks incredible!! Smells very much like citrus/pine/skunk on the plant..who knows what that will translate into in the dried bud.....I've got a clone that has taken, so I will regrow this ;) Each branch is pretty much a solid bud from top to bottom...lovin it! I flowered this right away after I lost the 2 buku to becoming hermies , so it's a bit on the smaller side due to only 1 week of veg time right after I got the clone ;) But still looks like I could get an Oz from it :)

OG 18 @ 1 week flower :

This went into flower on Memorial day weekend, so she's taking off quite nicely ;)
She was vegging while the Albert Walker was in it's first 30 days of flowering, so she's much larger and will give me a nice little yeild....It's got great looking bud structure so far, I'm anxious to see what she develops into!
