Ok...
So Ive done some searching and it seems that Honda powered generators are the ones of choice due to reliability and how quiet they can be.

Does everyone on here seem to agree with this statement? Anyone have some input they could add regarding whats the best one to use, best place to get them?

Also I assume its best to use diesel instead of gas regarding efficiency?

Anyone currently use one that can give some advice?

propane conversion kits are available for the hondas. we had one (5000w) ran off a pig tank we filled once a year. put it in a cynder block bunker in a hill. it had its own mini garage. very quiet! for hunting camp. good luck

honda, whisper series... very nice indeed. any gas powered generator can run off of propane, fyi. just a matter of fuel lines and adjusting carb

Any links to a good propane generator capable of doing 10,000 watts of total power? (Think like 9 lights and then accessories)

It seems like all of these models have really short run times. are there any conversions or models that can run for days at a time with an expanded tank?

you wont find a good one that large for less than 4000$ usd unless its off of craigslist or something like that..... i know generac makes some very nice quiet extended runtime generators, alot of em run on LNG or Propane as well, but there not cheap... a 16-20kw one will run you around 4-5k

Does honda make a propane whisper series? It seems that propane would be easiest to transport and have the lowest odor after being evacuated out of the house.

I was also looking on the Natural Gas Generac @ 20kW as NG is almost free here, It costs like 4500$ and comes ready to roll. The thing is those are standby units and I don't think they're built to run 24/7 but just for a couple days.... Although, I'd only need it 12 hours only for the lights and the other stuff would be still on the grid. Could it work?

The point of course is being able to run more lights without it showing on the bills.
