Let's see your best males (pics)

A lot of folks uninterested in breeding seem to feel like they've wasted their time when a plant shows male preflowers. Well, as somebody who's not currently breeding at all, I do know how frustrating it is to raise up a healthy, one-of-a-kind plant, only to find you won't get to smoke it. Still, I was pretty impressed with the growth habit of my LA Goo who I recently had to isolate, and actually chop down earlier today. I figured this forum would be the place to share. If I was so inclined, I think this guy would have made for a very vigorous father. Just look at those roots! The plant is LA Haze (LA Confidential X Neville's Haze) X Purple Goo (Afghooey X Purple Urkel). Who else has some beautiful male plants to share?
Subquestion - Who else is this baked on a Friday night?:hump:

Yema Male 0509 I (2).jpgSorry this pic is sideways but it is straight on my computer. This a cross of mine Sannie's Jack x El Monstre. He grew out just the way I was hoping, it was my Christmas in August this year. He is the best of 7 males I grew and keeping in clone until a better one shows up.
I must say your male is very nice. Good Job

Here is my best male ... well he (or she) is the only male I have made so far.

She's a tiny little boy :-)

You certainly don't need a big plant to get a lot of pollen.

sorry but males look disgusting too me.. fortunately never had one. however i am interested in breeding. Nice thread and something new. actually quite helpful in identifying males. PIcs of male "pre-flowers" would be sick.

Yeah I feel you on that, its not like I wanna be in a locker room staring at a bunch of guys junk swinging around everywhere.
I think I'd rather be looking at females in the locker room.
Theres already way to many balls swinging around in this thread LOL

Anyways on topic here: Breeding is always cool to talk about, I've heard that the people who breed are more selective with picking male plants than the females they use with them? I suppose it makes sense, seeing as how the strongest genetics are best to start with in most cases.
I've also heard that pollen can be stored for years? how would someone go about doing this.

Not years wont be very viable. 6 months is really the max to keep it viable. You have to put it in a air tight, light proof container and put in it your fridge.

This is the best male from my Serious Seeds Kali mist seed pack being flowered in a closet of mine. I plan on crossing him with some solid female genetics I have and I'm hoping he's a stud. I took 3 cuttings from this gentleman so in the even he's a keeper, I can continue to work with his sativa dominant genetics in the future. Cheers to pollen chucking ;)

Hey Homebrewer, sorry off topic, have you ever composted your spent barley? or throw a little on your soil? Talk about some mycorrhizae!!! Btw, nice Kali. I'm bettin if you grow out enough beans from him you'll find some nice specimens. :)

I compost all my spent grains but I don't use them in my soil. That compost will be used in my veggie garden though.

My 3 clones from the guy above all rooted and I made my cross. Now I've got to harvest the seeds in 45 days, germ some in 75 days and see if this guy contributes anything special.

Are you a brewer?

@ Hbrewer Yeah, I brew a bit. I do small batches, 1-3 gal at the moment, cuz it's cheap, easy, and if the recipe stinks I dont mind tossing it.

I've always thought that it would be so nice if there was a reversing method for males. That way you could check out his feminine expression with out having to test his combining ability too. And it would save the time of growing, maturing, refriging, and germing seed... just to find out if he's got what it takes.
