So, a few months back I was joking about the grinspoon for a party cup entry, but I never got any seeds for it, haha...but I got one seed of grinspoon coming my way:) Not sure if I'll grow it anytime soon, but I'm tempted to throw her in next run....decisions decisions... @Chronikool , I really love how that C99 is looking that you're growing, so I picked up two C99's from Female Seeds. I also have some Ghost Train Haze #1 coming. I got 20% off with the code "blackfriday" at attitude

Hey everyone, I hope your week is going well. Things are doing okay in the tent. I had a temporary issue of it being too cold in there...not a bad problem, imo, but the seedlings didn't like it too much. Everyone is doing well now, and I topped 5 of the 6 for the first time today:) I'll probably get the last one tomorrow or the next day.

Hey everyone, so I decided to go back to the dark side and purchase a pre-made panel. I want a 730nm light source, but I really don't feel like soldering, or thinking about it, haha. I was thinking about going with the 7 inch bar with 75 degree lenses. I want to hang it right in the middle, and give a 10 minute shot at lights out.

http://www.bmlhorticulture.com/led-light-bar-730nm-far-red/

What do you guys think? Is there a better option? Does the 75 degree lens sound appropriate? Seems okay by eyeballing things and thinking about angles....hell idk, haha. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

The BML bar should work just fine but if you dont want to solder you can always get some led star holders. There are some in the link below but I'm not sure what specific one would work, that depends on what stars you get. I have seen @Positivity using solderless ones in his setup so maybe he would know better. I'm actually building my own initiator for mine and my partners tents this weekend if I have time. I am using 4 @ 900mA per tent a 10" apart down the middle of the tent, both tents are 2'x4' Gorilla Grow Tents. The arduino code I posted in my thread is for a simple on/off timer that controls both lights and keeps them in sync.

This is what im planning for my microcab but it'll work in a bigger area..

Adjustable voltage power supply. Plug right into timer. Set voltage at 6v. Run parallel to three steves leds far red. Mount on whatever works...aluminum strip, heatsink, etc. Done.

Havent put it together yet but it should work. Each led should run at 2v..

The bml bar would be nice but still overpriced i think..shouldnt cost more than a led lightbulb..

You're going with a CV driver? I picked a 10w CC driver on ebay which powers 4 stars in my tent perfectly and we have the tents I think.

Also instead of paying the crazy shipping prices from steves I decided to get 20 of these instead. Now I have a bunch extras for cheaper than I was going cost to get 8 shipped from steves. They are only on for 5-15 min a day, don't spend too much money.

@epicfail yeah man, I saw your arduino code that you posted....pretty sweet:) Also, thanks for the link to the holders! I wish I knew something about how to use arduino...i was actually looking at a starter kit the other day. For now though, I think it would be too much of a learning curve and a time investment for me, because I really want this working in the next two weeks, with minimal hassle.

@Positivity Thanks a lot for the links man:) So, will these work with a holder on the link epic posted? That plug in power supply is pretty sweet..

Thanks guys for the input! I'll have to think about it a bit more. Also, I think a constant voltage PS is appropriate for LEDs in parallel.

@epicfail @Positivity so guys, do you think it's possible to use a solar panel to power all my pc fans on my heatsinks? I was thinking I just hang it on the wall, and indirect light should create enough voltage to power the fans when the lights turn on...I'm currently using a 9V wall wart to power them all. They don't really need to run at the full speed anyway.

CV this time...

Just wanted something simple with a plug already on it. Its a flexible little thing..can do a few combinations with it. Could just run one ledengin 5 - 10w far red off of it and that'd be plenty far red.

The bjb holders are pretty nice but its more work than soldering if you dont have a predrilled sink. They fit all 20mm stars..
Their more for setups where youll be exchanging leds out. I'd just thermal epoxy/precut star thermal pad the buggers down and solder them..

Solar panel would be trick but fans use such little power i think id rather deal with the extra electric

Hey everyone, I hope you're doing well. The seeds arrived today, so indeed I will be doing a C99 next grow....I hope she turns out like @Chronikool 's girl!! The girls are doing well, on schedule to be topped again in a couple days, and then i expect to flip to 12/12 on the 15'th:

That whole cindy99 - P75 on down is pretty OK in my book. Bros. Grimm stuff is epic. Good luck(not needed I'm sure) grower stay safe:D

Well, it came up much earlier than I thought, but I topped all the girls for a second time today-they're really starting to take off:) I think this is probably the last time I will top them.... since the pots are so small, I don't want to overdo it. We'll see...maybe once more......

I'm glad that the slow period at the very beginning is over...the seedlings are the most boring part of the grow, imo.... the plan is to put them into flower on the 15'th. If the 730nm light gets here by then, I'll try to flower on 13/11 and see how it works, but if it doesn't I'll put them to 13/11 until the light arrives. If the girls get too big though ( I try to visualize a plant that is about three times the size of what I currently have) then I will have to start flowering without the FR fixture.

I'm not really sure yet, but seems like the plants are liking the 4000K 3590 quite a bit, and they're staying short and bushy... I've been vegging them under the 4000K 3590, and the 5000K and 3000K 3070s for a couple days now. I had some spots of a mag def pop up on the Liberty Haze pretty much a day after adding the 4000K light, so I guess it is really pushing them. I'm heading to the gas company tomorrow to exchange my CO2 tank for a full one, so soon I hope to really have some exciting and rapid development :)

It's good to start flower at 12/12 with 730 nm for a trigger, pistils in 4 or 5 days.
Nice to know! Thanks man...so, you're saying I should do 12/12 for a couple weeks then ease up to 13/11?

And wow, 4-5 days? Seems like it can take up to 10 days normally for me...

Flowering is controlled by the length of darkness so at 12/12 with the 730 the plant thinks it's at 14 hours of darkness right from the start which speeds the onset of flower, you've heard of people going to 10/14 at the end of flower to push the plant to finish strong.
