Legally Growing Marijuana

So I've heard that in states where growing weed is legal that people can make a legitimate and legal living by just growing weed and providing it for public use. I was wondering if anyone here actually made a legal living growing and distributing weed in the United States and if they had any advice on how someone would start doing something like that. Thanks

best place to do it is california. area's of california do better than others.

edit: no state is providing weed for 'public' use, only MEDICAL use for now.
