Legal Medical Marijuana Grow OP needs some advice:

Hi!

So I live here in Denver Colorado, and we are on the fore front of the USA's fight to legalize Marijuana. Recently we spent a 16 hour day in court, fighting for our right to supply patients with medicine, and won it! The board voted almost unanimously to keep the Colorado Constitution intact, and not limit a providers access to medicine for its patient base.

Now, several people I know are pooling our talents in this tough economy, and starting a legal dispensary here in the mountains of Golden.

One of the things we are doing is growing SOME of our own medicines in house, and so we have allocated a small section in the back of the store, which will be open to view to the public as the light cycles permit.

We have a slightly elevated section of concrete riser, that has a 7'x7'x24' long structure built onto it already, consisting of 3 rooms. These rooms are exactly 7'x7'x8' high, and in the picture I have supplied, you will see the unusual door placement.

We would like to take this existing structure, and modify it as little as possible, since it is already sound and the walls are already built. This would be very convenient for us, since all we need to do now is run the electric and plumbing, and some HVAC ducting for the temp control system, followed by some insulation and some drywall to finish her off.

Now the dispensary itself will require many different strains of medicine, so what wed like to do is be able to SOG style as many strains as possible, utilizing the space we have. However, since this will also serve as an educational display and tool, as well as a marketing tool for showing people what thier potential setup will look like at home, should they choose to buy thier own equipment and grow thier own medicine, we need to have both soil and hydro in the rooms.

We have decided as a buisness, against my better judgement, to make this split 50/50 for now. We will do 50% soil, 50% hydro, and theres nothing I can argue to change it lol. (I was for 100% hydro to maximize yields, but the importance of this tool as an educational device is too important to some of us to ditch the soil, in favor of pure yield potential.)

So, given the perameters I have to work with, how would YOU change my grow room design? Attached is a pic of not only the room naked, but what I would see as a "conveyor belt" style SOG grow up. My plan is to use room A as a veg room, room B as a flower room, and room C as a drying/curing/processing rooom.

Siince im the only person in our little group of 3 owners who is a scientist, and I have by far done more research into grow ops than anyone else has (Im a hobbyist), I got delegated the "Grow Room Master", and set upon this task.

Cash isnt really important, but try to keep it reasonable.

I have attached what I thought could be the most efficent use of space, as well as a few links to what inspired me to lean towards this set up, but I am by no means a "Master Grower" so I humbly ask you guys for suggestions.

I am considering a stadium style set up, like the one found at this thread,:

https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/44253-northern-farmer-stadium-grow-vertical.html

except I am going to do Hydro (DWC) on one side of the room, soil on the opposite.

The questions I have are:

1) If I where to suspend lights vertically in the center of the room, how many 1000w HPS and 1000w MH lights do I need to stadium grow the room like in my attached picture per room? 1? or 2?

2) What other suggestions can you give to maximize yields?

Thank you so much for your time and responses, your advice might just help an old Dutchmen make alot of Colorado Cancer Patients smile again, if were lucky!

PS: If your not experienced witha grow of this size, or your not an expert, please dont confuse the advice Im looking for by adding in. I am interested to find out what the pro's think. Thank you very much for understanding.

Feel free to copy/paste my pic to use as a diagram if you want too.

I'm not an expert, so the only advice I can add is that you might want to switch the flower and veg room around. Simply because I would want the room in the back to have the shortest light cycle while the one nearer is on for longer. That just eliminates some time restraints that may come up if you can't finishing working in the veg room when the flower room lights go off.

I hope that makes sense, I'm pretty stoned.

edit: Btw, +rep for your dedication to the MMJ community and a cool grow op.
