I'm limited to growing inside only a PC case and am very fond of the LED idea, and not too very fond of CFLs. My pc case is 18" high, would http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-100W-6...ltDomain_0&hash=item43aa72a033#ht_9268wt_1163 be too powerful ? Should I maybe get the 50W ? I plan to do 2-3 plant sog.

With a lot of the modern LEDs I would be a bit worried about the intensity. i mean you have 18 in of height, which leaves maybe 12 after the light and the pot (at best) most lights start getting a little dangerous any closer than 12in especially the newer generation.
I would go 50-100 w of mini hps or cfl really. Is your computer wide enough for one of those UFO LEDs?
And about your plant count, one plant is going to be maxing your space already, not sure how you plan on 3.

My computer is wide enough for the 50w UFO and the 100W I posted yes, but I was thinking the 50w would be fine because the diodes are only 1w, it definitely won't be intense enough to bleach. ANd man trust me I paid 70 bucks for a pretty roomy case, 2 is the max though you're right i'm dreaming again xD

Right on, if it'll fit and its not too intense I'd go for the led. Just try to get the widest angles lenses you can, since they really need to spread in a short distance.

sweet! yeah the 50W LED is only 90 bucks plus shipping so it's not too bad, thank the creator that LED prices are dropping over time. And it has to fit!!!! 7 inch diameter 8 inch wide pc xD... And the case is fully white on the inside and i'll be putting mylar on too so that light will be bouncing everywhere my frand 
Although I have to go back on my promise and might have to use some 23 watt CFLs near the lower portion of the plant, we don't want any popcorn buds round' here!

hi. new convert, been lurking your forums these past few weeks in my research (amazing resource here. top quality primary sources!). yesterday i amazoned(.com) a BS180W, now waiting for the mail.
currently 100W+ 6300K CFLs vegging 5 females: VietnamBlackXMeaoThai, PurpleHazexMeaoThai, VanillaSky, ChocolateMix(sannie's), BlueberryXThai
also waiting for a single Satori seed to germ. hoping for male or female.
can't wait to get led....
p.s. if that last post is for real, i'm sold that Soil + LED is the way to gro

Yeah amazing news, I'm ditching that PC case and getting a little more space to grow (16"x16"x28") hurray!!! Found a spot

I'm set on a 135W 2012 Blackstar model from Gotham hydro/lighthouse hydro (ebay shop), for a 2/3 plant sog... Gonna take weeks tho
But for now I do still have the PC case with big bang auto sproutin any day

i bought a blackstar 240w 2012 because the 135w will only use like 60watts but the blackstar 240w only uses about 120-180w if you bought one as well you can participate in the blackstar 240w competition im going to looking for the best led strain but the only way to find it is by have multiple grows with same light

none lol waiting for the Tent and coco to come from ebay before i germ i'm thinking about autos but i think it will end up being barneys farm lsd thinking about going for a scrog no one has done this with the blackstar yet could be excellent results i will have 1 plant if i end up with the scrog maybe 3 - 6 autos but this will be after the competition
nice! Grow what you want but a heads up the quality of autoflower bud is different than photoperiod, in a negative way in most cases. Not sure if it was a 180w or 240w LED but I read a journal and the grower ended up with 3 ounces from a single plant. Not a solid investment but i'm sure growing conditions were not optimal and he could have done way more plants. However, I am confident in the power of light emitting diodes and will be purchasing my own 135w 2012 Blackstar for a small 2 plant closet grow. For 200 bucks, I'm hoping to get some dank bud out of this light, and enough of it to make it worth my while.

led light makes more THC than HPS because of the consent heat the THC is burning as its growing so if you grew something like tangerine dream where the THC is something like 24% but with led lighting it would be even higher so you can grow the dankest of the dank
