Cyan is the missing spectrum in blue-based diodes, but UV-based white phosphors have higher levels of it, and that's part of the reason we used them in the High Light boards, to fill in the gaps and extend the spectrum into the near-UV/UVA range.

Here's a comparison of typical blue pump LEDs compared to Nichia's Optisolis (420nm pump) from their spec sheet (Optisolis 5000K spectrum in red):

Here's a Seoul Semiconductor (410nm) 6500K:

Here's a gif of Yuji LED's VTC range (400-405nm):

So I take it this is single diode testing ? not board mounted testing ? Any links to more specific testing ? Not knocking anything just trying to expand my knowledge.

I was getting .5-.85 Gpw using hps with 600w a plant. 12-18oz plants.
Switched to led n get 1-1.5 Gpw now.
Now that i have hgl in my growroom though i should easily hit 2-3 Gpw with my eyes closed. :bigjoint:
Sure , but according to her no one can get those numbers unless the're running her lights and certainly no one running white based chips.

Those images are from spec sheets, with one of them supplied by Seoul Semiconductor, so yes they were all tested by the manufacturer.

Are you asking about the High Light boards? What "specific" testing do you need? Do you mean the attached spectographs?

Thanks, very much. Yes I was looking for on board numbers.

Hope you peeps don't mind if I ask a question. I have searched for information on Emerson effect and light schedules. Due to heat issues here in the desert. I want to run my QB96 Elites 12/12 and run a far red puck 15 minutes before lights out and 15 after light out. Anyone experiment with this schedule? Any information you can point me to?

Or perhaps information on 12 on and 14 off with no Emerson effect. I read an old thread from 2009 where they mentioned very good results.

i'm pretty sure light schedule has nothing to do with Emerson. it's a proven theory that light from a slighly less than 700nm source and slightly more than 700nm source increase photosynthesis. so 660 and 730 are the 2 different sources usually.

I understand the idea behind making a light that produces an optimal spectrum for stimulating chlorophyl production is a great idea...but I would need to find out if the increase in chlorophyl production translates to making a more potent and tasty marijuana plant. Otherwise, working in "blurple" light for hours and hours is not pleasant -if you've never done it. It's hard to see things because the human eye isn't calibrated for purple light to be optimal for anything (except dancing! ;))

So, even if it turns out that a blurple spectrum shows a slight increase in yield or a faster rate of growth, I still don't want to spend hours at a time around my plants in it.

IMG_20190521_234735_hdr - Copy.jpg My first run with the quantum board 260 watt v1 kit i had all kinds of problems as it was my first run with led and going coco drain to waist was a clusterfuck.
I had lockouts watered it like i would a soil grow and didn't get the hydro advantage of watering every day to run off.

Twice i under estimated the intensity of the lights and burnt the tops of my plants and even with all of the problems i had that run i managed to eek out .89 gpw which is still much better than i did running my old 400 watt hps.

This run im in a much better position have added another 120 watts of atreum 144.2s to my space and the plants look great at 3 weeks from flip and i expect a much better gpw this coming harvest.

Sorry for my shitty camera

Front 2 are Kushberry middle and back left are green gelato and back right is some mutant sativa dominant prick who wont show budlets yet at 3 weeks in its an amnesia blueberry headband cross
