LED vs HPS Help Required!

Hi. Im looking for some advice on leds vs HPS grow lights.
Currently I grow with 2x 400watt hps lights and 1x 600watt hps and always achieve a considerable harvest at the end of the cycle. I am wanting to change/try led lighting instead of the hps due to many reasons, mostly power consumption, easy adjustment of lighting colors for vege and flowering, efficiency etc. I have heard a lot of positive things about LEDs mostly from reviews, however havent seen too many posts comparing the to grow light systems on these forums. I am looking at purchasing the LED Mothership 540watt Enhanced Spectrum light as the review recons that it is more powerfull than a 1000watt metal halide. http://www.hidhut.com/catalog/led-mothership-540w-enhanced-spectrum-led-grow-lights-p-2600.html
Has anyone grown with the LED mothership? or do you have any advice/recommendations before I make this expensive purchase...? All help is appreciated! Cheers

if I was you i wouldn't waste my money on led's, your never gonna get the type of yield that you get with HPS's from led's.. So in the long run your actually losing because what you think your saving in power your losing weight in buds

it says a lot about the leds that many talk shit and then dissapear quite soon after, without ever having posted a pic beyond some veg pics (And not very impressive ones)
ive seen one set of pics of what seemed to be a nice big buds grow, but it looked so expensive that i didnt bother to save the link.

othervise led grows seem to be comparable to cfl grows.

Check out the Spectra line of LED lights (formerly Grow LED Hydro). They are the current top of the class in LED grow lights, if you don't believe me, Google "Irishboy LED Grows". The pictures speak for themselves, grow after grow. Don't listen to those who haven't used a quality LED's in there gardens, because they don't know what they're talking about otherwise.

Don't get the mothership find some 28 watters you can get 17 of them for the price(http://flora-hydroponics.amazonwebstore.com/Sunshine-Systems-LEDGP45-LED-Grow-Light/M/B001N4NKB8.htm) of a mothership that will allow you to have the light more evenly spread for greater coverage they are supposed to be about like having a 280w hps I am thinking on replacing my 1000w for 4 of them saving $4273 in electricity for the life of the panel after you minus cost not to mention the ac power saved from less heat.

So you would need about 17 of them to replace a 1000w hid system then. That sucks oh well plan A in back to full effect Master Blaster sounds to be the way to go then.

Uhhhh sorry buddy I don't dissapear i had to attend my JOB and that's just my opinion. I don't think anybody asked for your opinion about MY opinion. I'm not saying they wont work they just wont work as well.. I'm guessing that your probably sell them, cause I wouldn't get my panties in a bunch if someone came on here talking shit about HPS's cause I didn't invent them and I'm not gonna cry like a baby if someone doesn't agree with what i say..

ill start by saying i have never used LEDs but from what i have seen in others grows they appear to work very well if you get enough of the quality ones, most of the ppl i see who have great results were running nearly 1 to 1 watts b4 they began to match there hps grows. and no im not bashing then, i think it great, leds produce less heat and look cool, but in the end you use around the same amount of power if you want the same results. again this is all from observations.

Hey I would love it if they worked as well as HPS's so i could put the extra money in my pocket instead of spending it on electricity but when it comes down to it they just don't have the lumen output of hps's and mh's

Well imo, the hps is the way to go, I tryed planting under two 45W led panels and it worked like a charm, but there was no thickening to the stem after 3 weeks, and just three sets of leaves, compared to the 250w hps the stem was thick and actually the plant looked better, 6 sets of leaves.

I gave away bote my panels to a friend so he can grow hees vegetables and for tomatoes they work like a charm.

i was not talking about you specifically :)

though i dont know how you manage to think i probably sell leds..

my personal opinion about leds? i might get one in, say, 5-10 years, when the prices might have gone down while quality has gone up.

though, i frankly, think that led´s are basically just another glorified veg light, similar to plasma lamps.

i would love to get rid of the noisy fans in my grow that i need for my 600w lamp, but it looks like you need to spend thousands on the leds to make them work and funnily, ending up with alot more wattage than the hps grows. (the "successful" grows ive seen with leds, were with ridiculously expensive leds and a shitload of them (surrounding the plant)
