Hey guy, I need input. Read on the bright star website that the 240w is to be hung a 10-14" above canopy.. Anyone??
Many variables are at play with height distance(lens angle/secondary lens angle/ diode quality/etc.)........manufacturer's suggestions are a good place to start and always read your plants!!!! any signs of cupping/"tacoing" /twisting/curling means your too close and should back off...........good luck grower

... there's a countdown on A51's website. Doesn't give much info, "Counting down to Area 51 SMGS -160 LED pre-order".

I guess we wait until midnight.

Thought i'd give a quick update...

Dropped crazy money on a single L.A woman seed and a single Sharksbreath. Ugh. Praying for a keeper. They were disgustingly expensive. Anyone have grow experience under LED for either of them?

Time to build a veg/clone/mom box....

Plan is to grow out LA.W, ShBr, and a Kandy Kush looking for a killer (and short/bushy) pheno that thrives under the LED.

On thre DIY front, I'm currently facing the conundrum of how to drive my next panel without spending a billion $$$$

Hi All, An old school indoor grower here (peppers and such) and have used 1000w MH setup for a few years on and off. Recently got the bug to grow my own medicinal and am currently putting together a totally new Jardin D90 grow room. My prize baby is a Lumigrow 325 LED light. To me, I see the way of the future is LED's. Just too many drawbacks with the HID systems for me, high electric costs, heat, heat and heat. Yea I know the LED is crazy expensive but it should be the more economical system in the long run. I have not grown yet, will start in two months when I get home from afghanistan. I also know for now it seems the HID's will produce more bud per watt, but LED's can only get better from here whereas the HID system is pretty much played out and at a dead end so to say. My ladies are going to be feminized AK47 and fem'd Bubblegum (60Ind/40 Sativa). With the Lumigrow as you may know you can control the blue/red spectrum's separately so It goes without saying I need just this one light for veg/flower. Going to start with 4 plants.

Hey I new to growing and I've switched over to miracle LEDs bulbs from standard fluorescents and I think I'm seeing a great improvement in a couple days. My question is have any one else had success of any sort with miracle led lights. Everyone is saying they suck and won't work

It's like this...they work...but I have 5 for sale on ebay....
face it 15 bucks for 3 watts is highway robbery.
but they do work for clones and mothers.

LOL, guod...

That guy is great...."Now we season with a new flavour, some tasty OG kush" lmao..

Unrelated but kinda interesting peeps: last night my temps spiked from my normally quite cold cab, from around 24C to 27C.

This was enough for the very tips of my tallest colas to start to bleach :(

On the plus side i was able to observe the correlation at least, so i guess that shows that bleaching from blue/energy laden photons (ie where the excess will be dissipated as heat within the leaf) can be affected by keeping your cab cooler than usual.

Update,

Earlier in the year I had informed the thread that I wrote LowLightGenetics and got a discount on the LED's in exchange to update the forum.

I went ahead and did a order of these grow lights.

I used it to replace my BlackStar and Diamond line series

I have in the photos below is the older 5-band light that was offered on their old website, with a pure red 660nm can light that they offer.
In addition I kept my original 1w 90 LED pure RED LED.
The reason is I use the pure red for constant light 48hrs each week during flowering then switch back to the 12/12 or less cycle for the remaining five days.
This seems to produce more white hairs and crystals depending on the stage of flowers.

The photo is of GrandDaddyPurple, she is not a purple one but will be an awesome smoke.

GrandDaddyPurple.jpgLedNoFlash.jpgLedWithFlash.jpgBottleWhiskySizeCompare.jpgBehindWhiskySizeCompare.jpgNoLed.jpg

The best part was I kept forgetting the florescent bulb in the background so the whole grow was entirely LED based.

The other thing is I am not really good at feeding her either, I would love to see what a pro can accomplish.

I gave her basically regular water.
Sometimes she got rapid start mixed with crystal burst but in all honesty I didn't do a regular schedule of anything.
During veg she had bat and sea bird guano this was under the old blackstar and diamond line so I still use them for Veg.

I am definitely going to try one of their new lights I hope in the future!
they now have now have a: Full Spectrum - 13 Bands - 8 Spectrum Flowering LED

But way to go LowLightGenetics your my new favorite.

This was the best light I have ever used!
