Led Users Unite!

He probably is thinking about blackstar because people like me who use them have told'em it's just fine. If you chose to pay 2-3x the cost needed for an LED, that's your business :) All you did was pay for the replacement cost of your unit up front to the dealer.

Hey if you want to accept second best all your life then by all means, go for it. I suppose all those second hand blackstars for sale on ebay accepting no returns has nothing to do with their owners wanting something else hey...??

Life has a nasty habit of exposing the truth about things, you get what you pay for!

A lot of LED haters would say the same thing about you using them at all. My blackstars work fine and I'm not selling them. Yes, I got what I paid for -- in one harvest, I grew enough to supply myself for 6 months or more and the lights paid themselves back off a fraction of it. So yeah, I coulda spent $1-2K more for lights that did not grow marijuana ANY BETTER, but just cost more. Should they fail (none have of my 5), I can buy replacements less than the cost of an expensive system -- or if I decided I didn't want blackstars, I would've saved enough in the initial purchase to pay for half of a new expensive light. More expensive does not always equal better. In some cases it does, in this case it doesn't. Your lights may be quieter (mine can't be heard from outside the grow area, so....), or sturdier (i don't mistreat mine)... or cooler (I don't have heat issues)... maybe they'll last longer? I dunno. All I know is my weed is damn good from under those lights so I'm not sure what extra you paid for other than the satisfaction of knowing you can get a replacement when/if it breaks for 2 or 3 extra years. All I know is my 2012 model blackstars work damn good and I'm QUITE satisfied with them. I'm not telling anyone to buy blackstars -- I don't know if the old ones were junk but the newer ones are great and I've heard good things about the model that came out after. But I can find you someone who didn't like almost every model of LED out there and probably someone who'll say yours is second best, so....

Isn't the title of this thread LED users unite?? You want to rag on people who make DIY LEDs too while you're at it??

Oh the irony of this....your 2nd to last comment stated you had recommended the blackstars now you retract that. Also by me expressing my opinion on blackstars by no means attacks you personally or anyone else on the led users unite thread.

If you don't like my opinions then fucking tough, get a stiffer upper lip. He wanted an opinion and he got it, just because you own BS's you get your knickers in a knot because I have an opinion on them. I own a progrow and many have expressed opinions on it, you don't see me jumping to defend it like a child because I own one. Everyone is entitled to an opinion buddy.

Perhaps I'm only allowed to voice it if it concurs with you?

huh? where did i retract recommending blackstars. I do recommend blackstars -- but I'm not going to tell people what they should and shouldn't buy. Some of those expensive lights are very nice lights, just not sure they're worth $1-2k extra. Your light works great for you? That is fine by me I'm not saying you shouldn't have bought it.

Everything you said about stiff upper lip, don't like my opinions, etc you can take just the same coming from me. You dissed Blackstars and I came to their defense -- that's all. You express a strong opinion on a product, expect a strong response from those who support it.

But this is a pro-LED thread called 'LED users unite' -- I'm saying maybe if you want to rag on certain LEDs it's better in another thread, that's all. I'm no mod here so I can't control you -- if you want to be a complete douchebag about the spirit of the thread I guess go for it???? I don't think this thread was intended to say 'your LED is shit mine rules'.

Play the victim buddy. You just don't seem to be able to understand what an opinion is, just an opinion. Call me a douchebag and then look in the mirror!! I suppose that your last statement is in keeping with the thread is it?? You are a walking contradiction but thats okay, in my opinion blackstar lights are cheap crap and if they are good enough for you then fine by me, don't criticise the guy who drives a BMW because you can only afford a jalope...

I typed out a response but there's not much point... you proved my point about who you are with your posts. I will settle for being a dude buried under a mountain of primo bud grown with "cheap crap" and keep spreading the word about LEDs.

Hope whatever you end up with you get good results and are happy with it :) There's a lot of choices and it's a hard decision/big investment.

Hi,

looking into starting a commercial grow and looking for LED options. The following link is a local shop and I'm interested in peoples thoughts. Additionally any recommendations for lights would be appreciated.
Thanks

I'd stay away from that brand sir, there are much better options available, as stated above.
Feel free to check out my grow journal, where I'm using an Area 51 LED light, with good results.
