I've seen that video on YouTube. If you watch it closely, you will notice that while yield efficiency per watt is better for the UFO, the overall yield per cycle is almost 50% LESS than the 400w HID that ships standard on that system. The LED yielded more watt per watt, but since it has less than 1/4 the watts, the overall yield per cycle was about half what the HID's was.

Unless they are giving you 2 LEDs, you will probably be growing less per cycle than the single HPS (according to their video).

Note I am just going by their video, I am not bashing LEDs or claiming to have any personal experience with them. I bought one to try myself, but have not used mine yet. The one I have uses the 660 red that they say is worse than their 630 red. Everything I read prior to buying mine said 660 was better, but their test shows 660 to be worse than 630, so I dunno... :wall:

I just wish we could cut through all the HYPE and BS and get accurate information about color spectrums and efficiency.

Most companies say 660 red is better than 630, but other companies show videos where 630 significantly outperforms 660.

Some companies say you need orange and white, other companies claim orange and white are totally wasted watts that do nothing.

Many companies claim a 90w LED is like a 600-1000 HPS (which I think is ridiculous), others make more reasonable claims that they are more like 300-400w HIDs, and the best results I have seen (on a video not personally) show an output of about 2g per LED watt which is about double what HID can achieve making it more like a 150-250w HID)...

I've gotten so cynical that I almost assume anybody trying to sell an LED is incapable of telling the truth anymore.

Get into higher powered stuff bro, or your just throwing money away at this point. Go get on prosourceworldwide they are performing well for MANY people, as well as me.

DO IT DO IT! Or hit me up bro, if you need help deciding, but get some information before purchasing more gear...for sure!

Just lookin out for ya...

this is my 2nd grow with LED's, and they work just fine for me. I have no complaints. When I get my new room built I will go with higher wattage, but for now in my closet all I need is a few more lower wattage foe side lighting, and its cheaper than going big right now. Even high watt LED's have difficulties penatrating thick canopies. But I hear ya.

My plants love this light...
I put the three seeds in root cubes on Jan 7, only one of them popped I have yet to determine its sex. On Jan 15 I recieved 2 Mango Kush clones, 1 Master Kush clone and a Afgani-Shiva plant from seed. (Christmas gift from my mother)

The clones were healthy but they had started twisting a little as well as the leaf tips were dead. The Shiva was extremely healthy and looked great, nice strong plant. I put all into flower on Jan 24 and am still eager to sex the "Shiva" and the "Chili Pepper".

Jan 15.

Ten days later on Jan 25

Jan 27, Great shape and nice growth

I'm using 2 90 WATT UFOs in my caby and they seem to be working great. My plants are over 3 feet tall, I should be ready to harvest in the next couple of weeks.

I'm a few days away from my first LED grown harvest. I have two 90 watt UFO's covering a 3' x 3' x 6' area housing six plants. The characteristics of this grow is exactly syncing up with what I have read about LED grows. There is a SLIGHT reduction in over all yield but my buds have never looked frostier. There is an obvious increase in resin and tricome production. And since I grow for personal consumption and not for profit, the name of the game is quality, not quantity. Some critics of LEDs complain about the lack of canopy penetration but there is an easy and free way of combating that, shorter plants. I kept my plants at about 2 1/2' tall and the buds on the lower branches were just as impressive as the ones that resided higher. Also, my LEDs have reduced my over all power consumption. They don't emit heat so there is no need for vigorous ventilation. I just open the vents of the grow tent and an 8" fan on the lowest setting does the rest. My electricity bill went from approx. $300/mo to around $120/mo. I'm so pleased with my LEDs performance in the flowering chamber that I am planning on converting both the clone and veg chambers to LEDs as well. So if you are growing for yourself, I say, deal with the slightly larger investment because it will pay for itself in no time.

This is my 1st DWC and LED grow. These clones were taken 1/19 and grew quickly in soil + LED, then I switched to DWC and things went bad. Early on I made many mistakes and almost killed my plants using tap watter letting the EC get to 2.0 and Ph to 8.0 while on vacation. I am using AN A+B with some H202 and SensiZyme, but I don't think this combination is the problem.

Since leaves were dying and since I'm growing pure sativa, I thought I was over fertilizing and have backed off my PPMs many times and I just went from 420 to 260 a couple days ago.

Roots look good, but only established on the bigger plant.

So my question is: Are my plants experiencing nutrient burn or deficiency [or something else]?

On th plus side, even though the growth is slow, the potency of the leaves is better then I've experienced before growing the same strain for 15+ years!

I'm Excited to try my 4 new SG602 2watt chip LED panels. If anyone is interested, Maybe i'll start a journal. I know im curious to see what 1200 watts of high output LED panels will produce :)
