I use now 6 x 660w leds. Before was growing 600w hps. Some things i noticed:

1. Of course much better control over heat. Its big plus, leds are emiting some heat but for me emits perfect amount during winter in uk so thats enough to maintain good temperatures (not too cold). Only rare times i need heater during lights on, if its super cold ourside.

2.Humidity is higher than with hps. I dont know if its proper to say (as humidity is relative measurement) but some how hps lights dry up humid air. With only leds the humidity is harder to control so a dehumidifier helps a lot.

3. The plants flowering time little bit shorter.I dont know if its just for me, but for example the flowering time with hps was 8 full weaks and couple days, with leds its half a week or week shorter. Of course, depends on the strains too.

4. And the yields are much bigger for sure. The quality i would say also, but not that huge difference like quantity.

fotos are of my last round Californian Gelato, using 6 x 660w leds

Im loving the Evo 8 so far it runs super cool compared to the 600w HPS I was running in years past . The light coverage is fantastic and the girls love it . It’s currently running at 5/10.
This coming Monday is my day off and I’ll be taking care of the transplant!

Hello,,, New Member and firmly in the HLG Camp. I have two 100 V2 4000k. Start all seedlings out on one and at two weeks bring the other on and use them until late veg. Late veg into flower I would then pull them and put my old HLG 260 kit light on the job in my 3x3 tent. And having enjoyed many great grows with this setup. I got to thinking.... I need to upgrade to at least Rspec. Jumped on the HLG site to order the boards. Then I thought give them a call. I called them and before I knew it they were sending me two new Rspec boards a driver and hardware kit, Just asked me to send my old components back to them,, thus a free upgrade,,, right on! So I ask if they have a discount code and I will go ahead and order a new Rspec 260 kit. While a single 260 did a great job on it's own in the 3x3 tent. In classic American thinking more has to be gooder! LMAO, A couple of bowls and cheap wine later a piece of 1/8" aluminum plate to attack the lights together has to be good and that would make a perfect mounting spot for a UVA-30. Stoned and drunk thinking at it's best! And so it went. Really looking forward to flowering my current grow on the new flowering light setup. Maybe even doing some Co2 enrichment. Haven't used Co2 in many years,,, Well since the monster HPS and MH days of old.

25 days today from helmet head sprouts.
