3000k 90cri from what I see there. In days of old i vegged several times with 2000k hps and did not get bad results at all. Nice full spectrum. The shift into deeper reds is meaningful.

I wonder of one thing. I just ordered one COB cxb 3590. And seller told me its is a CD bin (top bin, right?). How could I know if he is not lying? Only by measuring light strenght?

Was checking Cree product characteriztics page for a while.. is there any chance seeing data on lower currents than 1.4a?

Db bins are out now,but the difference between them is minor.cd is still good.unless it came in original cree package (doubtful for 1 cob) then it will be very tough to know exactly what it is.thats a good reason to buy from reputable sources.

If you look into @CobKits thread you can find many tests done with multiple brand cobs at many dif currents.there are other threads here as well but im drawing a blank on the names of them

I tried to "unlock" some package codes, stil did not understand, which ones are they. Here is a picture. (open picture below post)


I see 35G, ok, from datasheet I know that those are 3500K.
Next, what is DB? It is probably 13`000 lumen bin, right? They told me, that they have CD bin.
Next, from NOH I found out - for 3500K that stands for 80 CRI, probably.
Next, 000B1, what is that?

I saw datasheet scheme for "unlocking" these codes, but they did not help in this case for me.

Please, share a reputable source for me. I bought this from alibaba.

But the fact is (as far I understand) - the lower amps, the less heat they emit, the more efficient they are (lumens per watt), right?
For example 1 x cxb 3590 @ 700ma is less efficient than 2 x cxb 3590 @ 350ma, right?
As this chart shows, if lumens per watt grows, then it would be extra nice building them at 200ma - 300ma and putting a lot of these cobs in one panel.

Could someone tell me if I can run 4 x cxb 3590 with HLG-240H-C1400A and will I be able to dimm the light? (700 - 1400ma), no outside dimmer needed?

You can actually run 5 3590's on that 240h-c1400. 3590's will pull less than 36v and fit into the voltage range of most meanwells really well. It wouldn't be a big deal to run just 4 on that 240h-c1400 if you happen to have one already or they have a great deal. But if 4 3590's is your end goal, there are a couple better suited driver options.

If you only want to only use 4 cxb3590's...
You can use a HLG240h-c1750 and run 4 at ~62w each.
Or
You can use a HLG185h-c1400 and run 4 at ~48w each.

You are correct about the A version only needs a screwdriver to dim within the range stated on in the data sheet. No external/additional parts required. The A version drivers are more designed for setting up and not touching after setup...not so much often/continuous usage. B versions are recommended if you want dimming as a major function of the light.

Although the A version has a basic ability to reduce output the B version allows you to use digital control as well as a potentiometer.
You will get better coverage with more light sources but it also increases cost up front.
That power panel should be fine. Just remember that about the light it produces.

The light from any instrument or power strip or fan or anything that stays illuminated during "dark" cycle can cause sex diversity that is not helpful. Some of these indicator lights are quite bright these days.
