This seems like to good place to simply speak up. The setup - 11 x 15 room - 3 growing areas - the greening area is lit by LEDs, the sprouting is florescent and the flowering is sodium. For now, My question is are there other people using this thread with a similar configuration?

Hello everyone I do not have a led configuration yet :bigjoint:but I only need to know if it's possible to grow mothers on 5 mm diodes ‼‼ that's the rig :bigjoint:for now, I want to make my own panel and put at least 200/300 china led on it. 5mm 610 - 720 nm and 400 - 520 nm red and blue ones 5mm china for now, I know that I can buy better ones and still having gain in comparison with buying from another . I'm new in led's world but I know something for sure , I don't want to buy any lamp from any company , and I want to make it cheap and functional at the same time. LED was made for SAVE , so that's the way it will bebongsmilie

5mm LEDs are not near as efficient as 1w, 3w/+ LEDs, it would be a waste
You can still make your own DIY panel with high power LEDs that you find on electronic supplies stores (farnell, radiospares, etc.) or off ebay. They are more efficient and as they are more powerful you need less of them to output the same amount of light.

I do not see anyone who try it to tell me that they don't work, I only read that it doesn't work..
first I'm going to make a 5mm and a 10 mm led panel just for 1 plant . and then I will see if there is enough money/watts balance to work(becouse the watts relationship is not the same at all) it as a 200 led panel or more. because if it works and it's efficient why do not work with it. and besides I'll not be using any driver. and you will see guys thank you for the support and any advice will be welcome
PS but you know how it is maybe I'll jump directly to 1w high power LED's to make it with new generation LED's but one way or another I will make the bastard shine :bigjoint: , that's the mission.

Simply put: high power LEDs (1w+) output much more light for the same amount of electricity than 5mm LEDs. Using 5mm LEDs will certainly work but it is stupid because the efficiency will be very low.
For instance, the brightest 5mm white LEDs output something around 2 lumen with a forward voltage of around 3.4v and a current of 20mA. That's an efficiency around 30 lm/w. Most 1w+ LEDs can output 100 lm/w, that's more than 3 times more light for the same amount of electricity burnt.
Moreover, you don't need 200 pcs LEDs if you use higher power so it is easier to put together.

In conclusion: my advice is not to go with 5mm LEDs.

I just received the best compliment from my friend.
He stated that I grow the best quality cannabis out of all the people he knows.
I'm also the only one he knows using LED lights and organic nutes.
He says that currently, my Pineapple Express, is the his favorite thing to toke on, hands down.

Here she is again, just in case you forgot:

Nice... where you get your pineapple express? clone or from seed (if so which breeder)?
That Pineapple Express was grown from seed, and bred by G13 Labs.
I received it as a freebie awhile ago and decided to grow it out earlier this year, I'm glad that I did.

I'm running g-13 PE under solar storm and 900 watt bs and they come out real fat and fruity! How long do your go for it says an 8 week strain but mine are week nine and still fattening! I'm thinking day 77 when I take down my sour deisel is when I'll take these down

hello patrik and thank you so much for your answer, but you are wrong at some point on what you r saying , the 5mm LEDS don´t put the same amount of electricity of 1w led, that´s because the 5mm are 0,6w or less and the 1 w are less than 1 w depending on the led i thought. andthat´s your mistake , they don´t put the same amount of light. besides of that thank you for your answer and I think i will be puting 3w led or 1 w led . but the amount of lumen is not so important like the spectrum and you know that that´s why they put red and blue , 2 bands . instead of puting all white that has better lm

Obviously you don't know what you are talking about so you cannot say that I am wrong.

To answer short: YES the luminous output of LEDs matters. Whether it is counted in lumens, milliwatts, µmol/m², etc. doesn't matter but the luminous efficiency of each LED DOES matter. And what I am trying to say is that 5mm LEDs (which are closer to 0.06w than to 0.6w btw) have very poor luminous efficiency when compared to high power LEDs.
Comparing lumens alone isn't optimal for some reasons but when comparing same color LEDs it is a very good starting point.

Ebay my friend :) you can find them by searching for hi_iq that is the sellers name. ( I am not that person nor am I affiliated them in any way ) however this seller DOES NOT sell the LED's specifically for the purpose of cultivation. but they seem to work decently.

My Pineapple Express was ready at about 9 weeks, but every plant is different, let the trichs be your guide.
