I'm wanting a 1000 watt hps but would rather a led but confused because by the sounds of it its better to buy hps because better product and not over 600 dollars ither big deal if the hydro is 20 dollars more and I gotta vent my heat in summer anyone got a led that will fit my needs and my budget or that would make sense cause 1300 for led isn't the right answer when 500 will get 1000 hps and prolly 20 a month more to run sounds better to me what you guys think

You will probably need to invest at least 1200 dollars for a LED growlight that can match a 1000w HPS.
Unless DIY, but even then it's still expensive.

DE HPS is still very efficient, a high end Gavita will still last you 2 years and by then LEDs will be even more efficient and cheaper.

Maybe you can do it for cheap with generic philips 13 watt (100w equivalent) bulbs, but I don't know if you think it's ideal to potentially have 70 bulbs hanging around.

DIY I would use 9 citizen 1818 or luminus cmx22 $170 - $200 depending on the chip
3 Hlg 240-54-b drivers $210 or go with the elg series and get them for $153
Aluminum angle and wire misc $100
The prices do not include shipping but as you can see it can be done
