With those Gavita DE units you should go 5gal. With the extra intensity your plants will grow quickly. Ever thought about coco and perlite?Second nature hydroponics.
Yeah I picked up 8 of them. Il be running 4@ 1000w each room for flower. Plan on flowering 9 under each haven't decided on 3gal or 5gal promix. Il be harvesting every month hopefully. I have 2 x 4ft 8bulb 450w t5ho fixtures for veg. 36 clones should root in a week and 3week veg before the rotation to flower. I've never ran this much power before so I'm on my toes a bit. The wife uses much more then me plus she wants to make bath balms, oils, creams, canna caps..etc I want to do the extracts. I've had a offer from someone with a oven to do my extract runs for 15% of finished product. Hope I can take him up on this. I have roughly 20-25 strains to pick from, 2 being CBD. Might make for a good journal, just bought some 2x2s to frame the rooms. Mobility isn't good, healing from a surgery.
What's the consensus on how many 1000's would go over a 4x8 table...2 or 3
or maybe 3 600's....
What is it about the double ending that makes them better? I guess the gravita are not able to run in cool tubes. Wouldn't the heat be excessive ?Yeah people put 3x 1000w over 2- 4x8 tables. These DE bulbs are the next wave of kick ass

Somebody makes an air cooled reflector for DE bulbs, not sure who. What is it about the double ending that makes them better? I guess the gravita are not able to run in cool tubes. Wouldn't the heat be excessive ?

From what I've read about DE, you shouldn't air cool them directly. The need to operate at a certain temp for proper spectrum.I don't know of there are any air cooled shades already built with DE connections but you could get any rectangular air cooled shade and attach a Adjust A Wing DE socket set and use a remote ballast.
LED will need to get ALOT cheaper before it becomes the standard.led seems to be the future of indoor growing, simply more efficient. as of now if you are considering lights for growing the ceramic discharge lamps cdl, light emmitting ceramics lec,, or ceramic metal hallides cmh, all the same thing.. the 315 watt lamps are 35% more efficient than a standard HPS or DE HPS...alot of commercial growers are switching to ceramics because they are better, save money on electric and produce even better..

The price is the main issue. Commercially itd be too expensive. For a personal medical grow in a tent, a lot of patients would benefit, if not for the cost of a GOOD LED light. I.E Not Crap King LEDLED will need to get ALOT cheaper before it becomes the standard.
As for the coco I'm thinking about it, no more lugging dirt in and out. LED is a great idea but it's not there yet. I think the CMH is the best route for a effecient grow. The price is the main issue. Hows the cooling heating for those rooms work MancAs for the coco I'm thinking about it, no more lugging dirt in and out. LED is a great idea but it's not there yet. I think the CMH is the best route for a effecient grow.
6' in and 6' out, 3 oscillating wall mounts per 4000w. Im thinking of going 6x 600w in each room instead of 4x 1000w, i have the space and the environment will be a lot more comfortable, i plan on keep the plants 3ft away from the bulb. I think it would be more beneficial with the light spread plus i would have hydro savings equivalent to my entire veg area.Hows the cooling heating for those rooms work Manc
sorry Manc but 6 in 6 out means what?6' in and 6' out, 3 oscillating wall mounts per 4000w.
