led lights

Don't seem`s too bad, but its a lot of Watt in one small Panel, thing with LEDs, beside they make next to no heat :) is that they don't spread the light out much :(

nothing like a HPS, the LEDs is pretty one directed, I would try and find two smaller fixtures or even 4 UFO`s (good quality not the cheap E-bay chinese once)

I run two fixtures in a 90x120 space

one is a 120x3W with a actually watt output on 288 (the LEDs run at 2,4W) and it have double/secondary Lenses on (cost about 440 € here: http://feroled.net)
other one is 96x3W who run its LEDs on 2W so it put out 192W with no secondary lenses on it (was on sale for 280€ here: http://ledlightszone.eu)

Im in Denmark and like to shop in EU so I don't have to get it shipped over sea and pay vat/taxes, often end up at the same price as ordering from the US even china but I like to avoid them for other reason (like bad quality and the fact that they kill our middle class, but thats another story) tho most of the panels is most likely made in China to start with

go for quality, not just do you often get what you pay for, but its not like your going to buy a fixture every months, so do pay the extra bucks and get something that works to start with and safe your self some headaches

p.s.

had a closer look at your link and its actually output power is rated at 175-185W and the spectrum is actually ok, not a bad fixture, but wont cover 120x120cm the actual panel is 30x30 so they at best cover 50x50 so minimum two is needed, 3-4 would be better, that or two of them and a few Etc. T5HO tube`s at the edges/side`s

For a space of 100x100, what do you recommend?

I now use 150W for a space of 60x60, and does not work badly.
Thanks for the replies!

You coukd build your own for over half the cost. Do some research on the required wavelengths and buy your leds accordingly. CREE leds work very well. And they are pretty easy to put together. I built my 100watt for 120 $ and it produced 5 oz from 2 plants in a old wine cooler converted into an stealth box. 3 oz or so from just 1 plant. Just an opinion tho. All lights can work well depending on the setup.

Let's say you used Cree A 19 household spotlight bulbs from HD @ $20. You also need sockets + a fixture to hang them + hanging cords + power cord +++.

If you buy individual engines(you need to know which ones) + heat sink + solder + good iron + meters + know how to use them

Either way, you are roughly in A51 $$$ territory
