LED lights

I am wondering if anyone has used LED's for their grows and how usefull they where. I have been thinking about using LED's but I would like to get some input on them if anyone has used them.

ok first off if you want a high yeild dont use LED and if u do then use as side lighting and have a HID for main source. 2nd- LED cost to much if u can spend that kinda money on LEDs then u best have a kickass setup going on.

but then again those are my opinions

do yourself a favour and use that money to buy a decent hps and ventilation system , believe me its what you will end up with anyway , if you take this hobby up .
if heat is going to be a MAJOR problem for you then go with '250w envirolites ' they are excelllent cfls , they are a bit cooler than hps .

good to know. I am thinking about talking up this hobby for personal experments. I am somewhat concerned about heat. I have been looking at Block=IR blankets. Dont know it they do what they say tho. Any ideas on heat reductions?

dont wast your $$$ leds. they sound cool but they dont work. stick to what ppl have used for years. get a nice hid system and some goosd fans for venting and youll be all set.

that is what i am thinking now. I am thinking about doing a flood and drain with 2 1k hps

2- 1ks is a assload of light and heat. so just be ready for the heat battle.

True. I am trying to do a grow like Al's but i dont have all of the stuff to do it yet. I am going to start with some smaller experments befor i go with his op.
