LED Grow Lights

Hey, I am currently using 2 LED grow light bulbs. a Blue one (450nm) and a Red one (650nm). They use only 15 watts each but the blue light is 500 lumens and the red light is 300 lumens. Is this enough lighting for 2 plants in a closet?

Reply with any input thanks:blsmoke:

In short.. No. Maybe it would keep it alive, maybe. But a good rule of lighting to go by is at least 3,000 lumens per square foot. To give you an idea, I use apx 130,000 lumens from a 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium bulb in a 4x4 space. So I'm using about 8,125 lumens per square foot. If you're trying to go cheaper, go to your local light bulb supplier, Lowes, Wal Mart, Home Depot... Get yourself 5 of the cool spectrum, and 5 of the warm spectrum flourescent bulbs . It will say on the box.
I'd say just get a 600 watt HPS and be done with the question of will it work, but you then need to invest in a method of cooling, which may, or may not be additional funds.

aw weak.. i was wondering why growth has been so slow... i dont have any more money to buy more lights is whats bad... thanks for the info tho.. im currently growing 2 purple high plants but i guess ill have to wait and see how they turn out with insufficient lighting /:
how quickly should the plants be growing? theyve only been alive for about 1 and a half weeks... and the biggest is about 2.5 inches now
