I was going to sell this MarsHydro 300W (around 170W draw) on CraigsList for like $50 (hoping!), but had an idea. Not necessarily a good idea, but here we are.

Would this light be acceptable as a light source for cuttings/rooted clones?

yeah, but you really don't need that much light.

just buy a shop LED shop light 4000 lumes($55.oo) from home depot, and take off the plastic shade, its only 48 watts. hits a 2x6 perfect. (adjusted height)

or you can make one, for cheap if you're handy like that.

Nice! Hopefully someone will buy that LED off of me so I can spend it on my clone tray and all that other fun stuff. Thanks for feedback!

its funny, people don't know how to sell stuff, they see the price of 79-99 and try and get that price.

but if you really want to sell stuff, you set it where the buyer is cornered on the price.

a lot of people misjudge "value" with demand, the value is only what the demand is, you can see a weaget being worth $$$$ but if there is zero demand its really not worth anything.

I buy and sell a lot of stuff, not really by choice a lot of stuff just passes though here, but people need to learn to set prices correct.

I think if your unit is fair to good condish, $50 is perfect. I still see them on CL for 99(used)....=/

The light itself has only been in use for about 45 days. I needed a temporary light and was going to return it to Amazon before the return window was up. But, of course, I forgot, so at this point I'm just trying to find a good use for it or get some of my money back by selling it.

you could do a COB hack, replace the single leds, with 3 or 4 cobs.
