LED choices

Looking at putting 4 (soil) of my girls in a 3x3 Gorilla tent and looking for the most suitable LED. From comments I have read here, I am looking at either a Area 51 190 LED or a Solarflare 220 full cycle. Any comments or suggestions would be very much appreciated... I'm a first timer..

I like the Solarflare quite a bit. You can frequently get them at Growershouse for 10 % off during their many sales. It doesn't yield as much as my hps but seems to produce a happier plant with more trichs and virtually no energy costs.

Good luck with your grow.

Thanks! I I am a legal card holder and all, but I worry about heat and possibility of fire in my apartment. That is why I am going with LED.. So looking for the best bang for my buck and have seen many people talking about those choices of LEDs.. Doing this grow for my own personal knowledge and my one personal stash.

You can't go wrong with either one. Both area 51 and california lightworks make top tier leds. Some will tell you that those lights will cover a 3x3 by themselves, which they will but to me, the edges will suffer. Start with one and eventually toss in another and you'll be solid.
Start with one LED fixture then add another? So I am in an apartment and they put in new circuit breakers so I am worried 2 will pop the circuit with a inline fan for filter, small fan and all the other power suckers needed for growing..

I'm not an electrician so I can't really speak to that. I would be surprised if it couldn't handle whatever you need. I had a buddy who did a 1000w HPS in his apartment no problem. What I'm saying is for a 3x3 I like more than 200w of light

So maybe the Solarstorm 440 for 900$ would be better even though it's not advertised as full cycle? Was debating adding 2 Kessil purple 150..

The 440 is cool because it has the uv bars on the sides

Yeah I saw that in the advertisement regarding turning them on during the finishing phases of the grow cycle for higher potency
Ya i think it affects density during flower also, but i may be thinking of something else.

And at twice the price for the 800 one id rather have two of the 440s youd get an extra 2 uv bars if you ever decided to add a second

Yup out of the California lightworks lights the 440 would be the one I'd get. Or two area 51 lights.

Justa lil frustrated cuz the girls haven't been growing tall at all during the pre flower season, but I worry once they start flowering, it'll get out of control whether indoor or patio.

If you see them starting to stretch longer than you like you can tie down some of the branches or supercrop them. Look up LST and supercrop training methods if you aren't familiar with canopy management techniques.

Also, thought I'd mention that its always nice to run into someone else from the bay area on here.

My a51 190 blows my buddies solar flare out of the water running the same everything other than the actual location. I'd say from watching my buddy dxe's grow on grow kind the onyx bloom is possibly the best bang for your buck for a plug and play manufactured unit.

I'd say either a51 or rapidLED onyx bloom. My $.02
