Jubiaire, you have to stop spreading false rumors. FERO does not get their light from cidly, you can call cidly and find out for yourself... They have the same mold but the inner parts are very different. Many company are currently using those mold from what I can see online.
Here's what FERO has to say:
I know exactly where Magnum and most other LED brands get there lights from....I deal with some of the same suppliers they do.
Also the light on Cidly is a basic mode 3 spectrums I think with red and blue light. Im not sure what drivers or chips they use? plus the cost of shipping and duty. I really think we have priced our products at a fair price to everyone else selling on the market without going to a lower quality product. Give it some time and you will see the good quality products stay and the bad quality products die off.
Even in our LED Spot lights we use Cree chip the number one chip made in the USA. we could use Edison a lower quality chip and sell our products for about $10 cheaper (spot lights) but we don't and we still beat Philips prices by a lot. Philips doesn't even use Cree chip.....
So far, all of my LED lights are the same, I do not have an opinion on any of them yet... I will let some time for the lights to prove themselves. One thing I won't do is go out and say that one brand is crap without trying it.

FERO doesn't use any CREE chips...

"No, we do not use Cree LED. Cree LED does not produce a chip with the spectrums required to grow medical cannabis. If they did then we would use Cree so the next best thing is bridgelux. Also Cree is very expensive so the price of the light would increase."

thanks brent peluso your just made a great statement why noone should ever buy fero branded lights , when the sales manager doesnt have a clue god knows what the assembly line is

They seem like quality lights.... Strange they use so few spectrum's.

Makes sense CHINA does manufacture most of the LED grow lights on the market (along with everything else), then a distributor/vendor sell each unit for double what they got it for. Welcome to the world of capitalism where greed ranks supreme! Jubiare has a good point nonetheless, the consumer is getting their eyes gouged... LOL. Years ago, a 300W LED panel, using only (298.) 1watt diodes, costed around $500; nowadays same amount gets you a 500w Blackstar that uses 3watt diodes! Anyways what I'm trying to get at is that "the cutting edge" costs money. Learn this lesson the costly way and "invest" now or wait a few more years and get your money worth, that is, if the almighty USD is still worth something then....

That's bullshit, my lights are all cree diodes and were cheaper than the Fero lights. 47 days from seed, autoflower - cha fucking ching.

I've used a lot of different brand led lights and can honestly say that if you have true 3w chipsets in a variety of spectrum known to aid photosynthesis in veg and flower, that are pushed through the appropriate viewing angle for the wattage of the diode and know the correct wattage of the panel (output wattage not advertised wattage) it doesn't really matter what brand you're using as long as you're dedicating at least 130 plus watts of true 3w led per plant you'll be in good shape.
Yeah some are better than others but when you get down to brass tax if you follow the suggestions I listed above you'll be happy with your leds. Just research the hell out of any company you're looking at that should be re-iterated 30 million times in this thread. 30 minutes of research could save you a lot of heart ache in the future!

OK, with all the controversy, The FERO is now on it's own in my dresser. The 2 plants were never really strong but they are growing some buds with the 2 lights now, so if the FERO is any good those buds will keep growing. As of this morning, I am taking the blackstar out of the dresser, sacrificing my crop (I can easily run 3 small lights in the dresser and will be only running 1...) and we will find out about the FERO lights.
I will post pics in my journal of what the plants look like today.

FERO has pretty decent prices, not sure what all the complaining from people is about...
340-390 watt actual draw for under $600? That's blackstar territory, except the come with lenses in a modular case.... seems like a great deal honestly.
Blackstar 500, 300 watt actual draw, $540....
FERO 450, 340-390 watt actual draw, $550....

yeah and me I got an even better deal on mine when they first came out... got the deal on amazon. But anyway, here is a few pics of what they look like as of today. The TD is pretty lame at the back and the Super Lemon Haze looks ok. The blackstar is probably going to endup in the room with the 2 400s.

Taking one for the team ... and for science! Badass man. Keep us posted. I'm not trying to hate on any of them, merely offering my theory that pretty much all true 3w leds will perform in a similar fashion if the right specs are employed.

do you know why? Because instead of going to use good chips, they are giving us the idea that we need the same amount of watts to equal hps, those people are incrementing the watts into a minimized coverage area
penetrator 336 or whatever it is, 400-500 watts for covering a mere 4 x 4 area?
All thanking the great evolution of x lenses? That's bollocks, if they were good lights, they'd cover 4 x 4 with a 300 watts!
