First and foremost bugs have been a bitch to me this year. Grasshoppers have been out hot and heavy.
Anyways I have a small auto patch that are flowering and fattening up nicely. Plan on pulling them in around 2-3 weeks.
But I'll be damned if bugs aren't attempting to use them as nesting grounds. Cleared eggs off that were attached to stalks the other morning. Tossed some bugnets over em and went along my business.
Went out to feed em tonight and misplaced my usual flashlight.
So I snagged my small LED Blacklight flashlight.
Got out there and did my thing.
Decided to give my girls some cola sniffs. We all love to smell our girls don't we? Makes my mouth water.
Then I noticed a cluster of white glowing balls around one of my budsites.
It was a cluster of eggs that I'd missed. Except they were more swollen.
Needless to say each and every one of them got a very detailed inspection considering the eggs were flat out glowing in the dark.
I'm not sure WHAT type of insect eggs they were. But they're gone now.
Just wanted to share this discovery with you guys. Maybe this might stop some problems before they start for a lot of us?
