Led and CFL combined lighting?

Hey ,i have a couple of Hans Panels and jnust wondered if i could also use some cfl for the lower half of the plant as a substitute light? The Hans Panels seem ok but when the plants get a bit bushy you start running into problems. Would cfl's effect the LED effective light footprint overhead?

Standard output T5's would be a better choice for side lighting than CFL's, or CREE LED bulbs from home depot. You can also avoid needing any side lighting at all by training your plants (scrog, mainline).

To answer your question though, running CFL's would work fine with a hans panel. However it would be less efficient than training or other options.

I agree with bicit...I started off using a big ole CFL with my Hans panel...but I was really only using it for heating purposes and finally just added two littler PP Led panels for side lighting as I wasn't training them....they'll work fine for the side lighting if you don't train but all Led with some training would be the way to go...
Here's the link to the set-up I had going on..

Now, I just use the Hans by itself and train the girls...

Cool , well i have my plant trained so that's all good. I see in your link your panels are pretty high up in veg. How high do you have them? In flower right now they are about 15 inch away. My tent is a 2ftx2ftx6ft one.
