Just wanted to throw out a debate on here for those of us that are NBA fans and are watching the playoffs right not or at all. Who do you think is the better competitor, better player in today's game? Personally I'll say Lebron James has the upper hand when it comes to Kobe Bryant, he's the best player in the NBA. He's a true TEAM player and is a great influence for his franchise and this is not accounting for the usual stat book, the man was MVP for a reason on and off the court.

king james...period..and i dont just mean over kobe i mean he is better than any player in the nba to date..shit,he is at least 5 times better than michael jorden of shaq ever could have hoped to be. kobe is garbage compared to lebron in pretty much every aspect. i think any true NBA fan will say the same.

Idk about better than Michael Jordan he is def. in that class of elite players but if we could both see them go at in there prime, Michael Jordan would have him. He was fundamentally perfect in everyway and is an NBA icon and legend but LJ is on his way down the same road. I can't really compare with Shaq though played a diff position and is a completely diff player I think Shaq is one of the best at what he did and continues to do...

Lebron, He is the most physicaly gifted player I've ever seen. Kobe is good but he doesn't have what Lebron does in terms of leadership, sportsmanship, and just about any catagory. Hopefully we get to see that match up in finals. Ppl will quit asking this question then.:peace:

Jordan was the best player ever. But let's compare him to Lebron in five years when he's in his prime.:peace:

I agree cph, I only ask it because I know there are those people out there that will defend Kobe Bryant to the grave. It doesn't take a Harvard grad. to be able to notice how much of a dick Kobe is, he is def. a gifted player but doesn't give off the same leadership qualities that Lebron does. But how do we know that this isn't LJ's prime? I don't think it so I will keep waiting to see but who knows, LJ is def. a talented player and a smart one when it comes to the game.

well lets see how many rings they have when its all said and done

people hate kobe because he's a dick and a winner. how many rings? already got an mvp......

KOBE IS A MUCH BETTER DEFENDER THAN LEBRON....but lets see what happens if they get past D Howard & Carmello, respectively.... of course.

LeBron won't be better than Kobe until he learns to stop traveling. You're supposed to learn not to do that by fourth grade...

I'll take Mr. 81 any day of the year. Kobe shut down LeBron BOTH games this year, and his team won both games. Kobe dislocated his finger in the December game, forced LeBron into 5-22 shooting, and won the game.

LeBron is good, but his stats are a product of the NBA. Ever notice how he gets so many non-existant fouls? One example would be with Hedo Turkoglu during the first quarter. It was deemed a "hip bump", but there wasn't any bad contact. On the next play, LeBron gets away with an obvious goal tend...

How many rings since Shaq left?
Irrelevant.

Shaq didn't win those championships by himself.

Lakers didn't become a contender until last year, after years of bad trades and signings. That's the Front Office's fault, not Kobe's.

0 titles since shaq left. TRUE
i think there has been a scoring title, a regular season MVP, and 2 division crowns (which are a joke they really don't matter).... 1st team all NBA (multiple for all you haters), a gold medal....

there used to be too much mustard on his (Kobe's) hotdog... now its just right.

Lebron is still young....
but wasnt young lebron schooled by the spurs 4-0 in the finals?
i don't think kobe has EVER been swept....

12 free throws now...

i havent seen such bullshit since Dwyane Wade in his championship year, when he had over 20 free throws against the Mavs.

He gets fouled on every play, right..... :spew:

Kobe found his way shining out into the NBA Top list during his rout with Shaq in the 99-02 seasons but before that people had not begun to care much for Kobe as a player and was mainly highlighted in the '97 NBA Dunk Contest. And wrong Kobe & the Lakers were swept against the same team the Spurs and not just once, twice in 98 & 99...if you all don't remember Kobe's first 2 seasons he was riding the bench behind Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel. Kobe didn't attain his rings till Shaq came in the picture and the team had evolved with Phil Jackson's abilities. Kobe was not nearly as good as Lebron has been through the beginnging of his career. I think people like to blind themselves and think Kobe has been as talented as a player as he is now all throughout his career, when he hasn't. The man rode the pine until LA traded away (at the time) All-Star players Eddie & Nick.

^ dude whatever, you are smoking I hope its just weed... ^

see...the problem with the fans of the NBA is they still THINK other people are the best when they should just recognize WHO the best really is...please i beg of you...find me another NBA player that is supposedly better than lebron..better yet find me a player that could out game lebron anywhere in the game of bball. i dont think that is possible and many people are just too damn ignorant to realize it.

THANK YOU! now see...if kobe was so fucking awesome at his game why in the hell aint he anywhere near lebron career wise? because lebron would run circles around him and anyone who gave him an open challenge. :hump:

again LEBRONS, lets see what happens if our "chosen ones" do what they are supposed to do and settle this for everyone once and for all, best of 7.

thanks for pounting out that Kobe was in fact swept in a series. I forgot about the last Del Harris (or was it Rambis) squad....

from all the basketball I have seen in my 32 years, granted most of it watching the purple and gold, so maybe i am skewed some, Kobe is a top notch competitor - c'mon when he was in high school girls would come over and watch game film with him. DEDICATED

Lebron is the best thing to happen to the 216 (cleveland) since the fire department put out the fire on the river....

both are talented and are pretty much opposites regarding style of play. Offesively, Lebron is more of a "get the team involved" by nature while Kobe is more "I will beat them"...on Defense Kobe is regularly ALL NBA.... LeBron is a good help defender but until he can become a lock down defender he will not be as complete as he can...

similairly if Kobe can trust his teammates more on offense (and Lamar & Pau play like MEN) he will become as complete as he can...

They are both unbelievable athletes and competitors. FACT
