Leaves slowly turning yellow?

Hey guys, I've got two plants growing under a standard energy saving CFL bulb.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed the first leaves that come through (the roundish sorta ones) had started to turn yellow. I kept checking the plant to make sure they were okay and slowly they have both turned yellow and shriveled up.

Now the third set of leaves, the ones which actually resemble ganja leaves have also started to turn yellow on the tips and across the leaf.

I've also got a second plant of a different strain, the leaves are a darker green and more spiky than the others, but no yellowing as of yet.

The seeds are feminized, and of 3 different strains but I didn't realise they said on the tube which ones they were - so now I'm clueless. All I know is one of them is a white widow.

I'm not using any nutrients because I wouldn't know what to use! (plus I'm completely skint) I'm sure it's a defficiency of some kind but I can't really pinpoint it as I'm new to growing. It looks a bit like an Iron defficiency, because I had a little browse through google - But once again I'm not sure. It said to use some rusty water, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pour dirty rusty water on my gorgeous little plant! I also wondered wether it was because they are only in small pots and need to be repotted?

I've got things like 'Miracle-Gro' and tomato plant nutrients - Would these be suitable? I thought not but I may aswell ask.

I just tried to take some pictures but I have a ZTE Blade, and the camera is awful, and the auto-focus barely works.

What does it sound like to you guys?

Keep it green! :leaf:

Overwatering and the tiny fluro isnt helping the pots dry either, get a large fan in there and reduce watering.

I didn't realise that overwatering could be the problem - I normally leave them for around 3 - 4 days, or until the soil is visibly dryer than before until I water. Is this too often? If so, how often should I water them?

Like has been said, you can underwater them w/o much issue but too much h20 and you'll have unhappy ladies.

Learn the feel of the pots when they are thirsty vs. when they are freshly watered. Heavy vs lite

Yellowing leaves from the bottom up i bet money its a nitrogen deficiency. They need food.If you dont have a grow store near i guess use miracle grow for now.give them something. Be carefull That shit will turn back to crystal even after mixing with water when it dries out so be gentle with it.Seriously find a grow shop.Good luck.

I repotted the plants into pots which are around 4 times bigger, added some of that high-absorbency peat stuff ontop and then gave them some Tomato plant food after reading the ingriedients which were:

Nitrogen
Phosphorus Pentoxide
Potassium Oxide
Magnesium Oxide (trace)

I thought using this would be beneficial as I know plants need things like phosphorus and whatnot.

Also moved my setup to a different area because of the larger pots - I know the plants are reacting to the light because they were bending over to face it - The CFL bulb isn't powerful enough. I need something which produces light in a different colour spectrum and produces more heat!

It's been one day and my first plant doesn't look much different, which I expected. my second smaller plant (which was basically the scruff - I planted it, it didn't grow so I didn't pay any attention to it and then a few weeks later I noticed it was infact growing and managed to save it) this plant now has gone really flaccid and droopy, looks to be dieing :(

I don't think there's any saving this one - I have two small (around a foot each) fluorescent light tubes. I salvaged them from a peice of electrical equiptment I had ages ago. I think these would be perfect from my grow, but I can't wire them up. They have two small wires. I took one of those 12v transformer power pack things that you get with everything and snipped the wires, and tried tying them to the wires on the fluorescent tubes but there was no life.

(Compared in size to a one dollar note, I'm British but couldn't find my ruler)

I know this is a cannabis growing forum but seeing how light are a major part of growing I'm sure someone here has some electric knowledge.. Anyone got any idea how I can get these babies going? I'm guessing I need a ballast or something like you get with grow lights? They are expensive as hell though, I'm trying to do this without spending a penny (because I don't have a penny to spend) I saw a video where someone used a relay/transformer from a disposable camera to act as a ballast? I have a small amount of electrical knowledge, but lots of mechanical knowledge so I have the tools. + my nieghbour next door is a fully qualified electrician. Could there be something else which I could use to act as a ballast? I also have fluorescent light tubes in my shed, could I pinch bits from those?

I noticed some scorching on the leaves of my other plant - I think I may have used too much plant food. It says to use 1/2 a capful per gallon, I probably used about that amount for 300ml of water.. Here are some pictures, luckily they focused really well! :-P

Anyway guys, thanks for helping me out! I really do apprieciate it!
