Leaves growing from root shoot!

Checking on my root development today only to find instead of roots iv got leaves! Figured id post some pics.
its growing completely submerged in water.

Thats strange right?

not strange, i think when you cut the clone and cleaned off the leaves that were at that node, you neglected to trim the shoot, what you are seeing is the shoot growing in the absence of light so thats why they are light colored and not green.
