He's a dick. I hate going there, but it's the only way I can get these supplies without having to order them on the internet.

In fairness, I obviously should have read the directions more carefully. Oh well.

Off topic, but....what parts of the plant do you save for making hash? Just the fine trimmings from when you harvest and manicure your buds? Do you use everything? What about leaves that die off...I've been saving them as I pull them off the plant, but I don't know if they even have THC in them.

I don't use the leaves that fall off. When I harvest I cut a certain "clonseness" Basically to whatever depth I see trich's on the leaves fairly heavily. Trichs I just can't leave behind.

I dry the bud and then trim it up real nice and close. All of those trimmings from this point are turned into A) blunt filler (this is mixed trimmings with chopped up popcorn nugs) and B) Hash... This time I'm planning to pass on hash and focus on edibles.

Alright - I bought my pH 4 calibration solution, calibrated the pH pen, and checked the pH of the water I have been using...5.1.

I haven't been able to check the pH of my soil because I didn't water yet...but it's probably quite acidic. What should I get the pH of my water up to for my next watering?

Also - to check the pH of my soil...do I have to check the runoff when watering with straight water, or can I just check the runoff of my next feeding? Thanks.

Check the runoff of your next feeding. If you've been watering with something near 5.1 I would water with somethning @ about 7.

Alright, I got the pH of my water w/ nutes up to 7 and I'll water with that next time...I'll report back w/ the pH of my runoff.

I watered today with my pH 7 distilled water w/ full strength bloom nutes, checked the pH of the runoff, result: 6.0.

The plant is 38'' tall and today marks day 43 of 12/12. There are tons of trichs...I plan on buying a microscope this week from Radio Shack to see how far off I am from harvest time - what type of scope would you recommend? Should I continue to feed w/ 7.0 water w/ full strength bloom nutes? Anything else I should be doing differently at this point? Here are some pics I took today, too bad close up bud pics don't come out great on a cell phone camera...but oh well. Thanks for all the help as always.

I also bought a microscope to check trichs, about 80% clear, 20% cloudy, 0% amber. Today is day 46 of 12/12, so I got some time still. Sucks too...I'm getting impatient.

The yellowing of leaves has completely stopped...still a few leaves with damage from before - yellow/brown tips, but no new yellowing. Otherwise the plant is looking very healthy. I'm kicking myself for not investing in the pH pen from the beginning.

They look awesome, you don't want them to be done...trust me.

Every day that goes by now that they aren't "done" is a blessing. They are growing, they are fattening up for you. You put all this work in, and now they are working FOR you. Damned be the day that they must stop and you must chop them down.

haha...enough on that rant. Start saving up some scratch. You need enough to buy an oz of good quality bud. This is the ceremonial "Last Ounce".

The Last Ounce is a great tool for the first time grower. On the day of your harvest you go out and buy an oz of some really bomb shit as a reward for your great growing efforts.

Smoke some, start trimming...smoke some...keep trimming...smoke some more...hang your buds...

smoke for a week, put your bud in jars

When you run out of that last ounce you can begin to smoke your homegrown shit, but you should smoke the Last Ounce wisely for the slower you smoke it, the better your grow. You will ruin it by smoking it early, all new growers do. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!!!! It took TOO long to grow to smoke it when it's nasty and harsh.

Later on, when you're just about out you will say to yourself "This was some bomb shit, wish I hadn't smoked it all up"

Haha, if I had the option of buying an O, I wouldn't have started growing in the first place. I started growing out of necessity...it just so happens I also get a kick out of watching it all happen, checking up on my plant, learning about growing, etc... This is my new favorite hobby.

I had a few other plants to start with, but I killed a couple of them and the others turned out to be male...so I'm left with this one plant and she gets 100% of my attention. Next time I hope to have 5-6 plants...I have a 400W HPS, might as well use it.

This will be the first bud I've smoked since New Years, so as eager as I am, I have no intention of rushing the process, chopping early, cutting corners, etc.. I expect curing to be pure torture.

Do you have your next batch started yet? Did you take any clones of this fine looking female?

Nah, I didn't have a seperate room and light setup to grow clones. In fact, I should probably order some more seeds now. I orderd my last ones from peakseedsbc.com, they were pure skunk. The seeds arrived in less than 2 weeks, but only about 25% of them germinated, and then those turned out to be males...so all I ended up with was this plant I have now which was bagseed. That was $40 wasted.

Any recommendations for sites that will ship to the US? I tried placing an order through amersterdammarijuanaseeds.com a couple of years ago and I got a nastygram from customs and border patrol saying they confiscated my seeds.

attitude, seed boutique are awesome to the us. Heard worldwidemarijuanaseeds is good. You can order single seeds from them. I wanna find some canadian sites myself.

Well, peakseedsbc.com is Canadian - and like I said, I got my seeds in under 2 weeks, but the germination and female % was terrible. Then again, this was my first grow...so it's entirely possible that I just fucked up the germination.

Got my runoff up to 6.1. Should I just keep watering with 7.0 water until I get my soil up to 6.5?

Today is day 53 of flowering, the plant is 42'' tall, and the buds are fattening up nicely. Trichs are still like 90% clear, 10 % cloudy, no amber yet...so I figure I still have a ways to go.

I watered again today w/ my 7.0 pH water w/ nutes and the runoff is up to 6.25 pH....with each watering my soil pH gets closer and closer to 6.5. As my pH rises, the plant is visibly getting healthier and healthier. In fact, in the past couple of weeks the plant has suddenly started growing again and all the top colas grew an extra 2''-5''!

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Definitely glad to hear your girls have gotten on track. It's all about catching those things early and not ignoring it as some would have suggested how long back? Your plant could have likely been dead long before now.

Anyhow, post up some pics, I want to see these things and I want to see this new growth. I wonder if the flowering was stunted by the lockout.

your plant looks great man, nothing to worry about at all. The leaves are turning yellow because of a nitrogen deficiency but some fan leaves are suppose to turn yellow during flowering. The plant doesnt need nitrogen during flowering so just continue the nutes your feeding the girl now
