Wait until it is time to water. The soil will remain more intact. Gently squeeze the sides of the pot. Invert the pot with the plant stem against your hand between your middle fingers. Should fall right out in your hand. A couple gentle taps on the bottom of the pot if not. I strongly suggest you lighten your soil mix before you do.

Lighten?

So I can transplant plants that big that's the next step I was afraid of
I wouldn't transplant those yet. They look pretty small still for those pots. What I do when I transplant, is pre-make the new hole using the old pot or one the same size to limit any shock. Next, I mist the new hole with water and sprinkle a tiny bit of Azos, and a bunch of Mykos. Then gently remove the old pot, mist the root ball and soil, sprinkle a tiny bit of Azos and coat the shit out of it with Mykos, and water them well.

Get some coco-coire and a bag of medium orchid potting mix. 30% coco, 10% orchid mix and 60% FF. That's my base mix. Soil doesn't compact. Creates air pockets for the roots to breathe and provides numerous amendments.

Really?

Yeah looking at that article again I says 14" closest for 400w must of just skimmed it and thought I knew what I was talking about .
I've dropped them another 3" .
What height do you recommend? When I get home I'll raise the light some more
Those numbers are for adult plants, young ones in veg can thrive on less... just gradually increase it....

Repot if you need to water every 2 days... usually the plant is twice or thrice as big as the pot (in veg)

u got a digital dimmable ballast?
