Lava Rocks???

I've seen plants grow in it, but I didn't see much the condition of the roots.
 
Yea for sure, i only use lava rocks, there alot cheaper thab hydroton and can be found at your local lowes or home depot for cheap. But you have to soak rinse soak rinse till allllll the reddnes and dirtiness is off or itll clog your pumps. Also roots growth is the excat same, just be sensitive ecause lave rox have sharper points wich can cut the roots.

Cool man, thanks.... I dont have anyother choice but to use lava rocks, and I dont really wanna order the clay online, so it's great to hear that someone uses them.
