Last step QWISO question

I've done qwiso several times in the past with great success except for dust. I use a space heater to blow hot air over the glass pan to speed up the ISO evaporation. I also tried to just let it sit and evaporate. In both cases alot of dust seems to get in it especially when it dries and becomes sticky.

Could I put parchment paper over it? Would everything be able to evaporate through the parchment paper and leave out the dust?

A little side question, is the qwiso ok once it's sticky or should it dry longer?

I always make sure mine is completely evaporated,then wait another day.There will usually be a little bit of sticky residue left at the edges even after its completely dried.I try not to scrape it up as much as possible....believing its is lesser quality with more chlorophyll and other crap from the plant.

As far as drying I believe most of us use those metal mesh grease splatter catcher things,they're about $1 or 2. I get mine at the Dollar General.Or you could rig up a piece of panty hose stretched over a wire hanger formed to fit over your evaporating dish........so no dust or other contaminants get in.GL

I've used cheesecloth and the grease splatter screens. They both worked well. Sometimes if the film is not thin enough you can get thicker pools that say sticky longer but I've found if I just have patience and give it another day or so it will harden up and scrape dry. I also use no heat at all when evaping. First couple times I made Qwiso I let it evape for 24hrs, it was dry to the touch, but when I scraped it some some a bit soft. Since then I've let it evape for 48hrs and it's always been hard, scrapes into dry powder.

Thanks for the feedback. In the past I usually only waited 12 hours at the most before scrapping so I will definitely wait at least 24 hours. My old batches never smelled bad so probably didn't breathe in too many nastys.

I will look into panty hoes and cheese cloth...

What do you do with that powder?

I either mix it, as is, with bud or I put it between parchment paper and use the heat from my hands to press it into a flat patty. Some of the patties will be very stable at room temp and others will tend to soften up when touched. Don't exactly know what causes this maybe Qwizoking could elaborate on this. He's very experienced in making qwiso and it's his preferred concentrate.
