Last minute vegetable Garden Journal.

well, I thought it would be nice to have a veggie garden journal to reflect on, cuz my other journals do help..... anyways.... I just built a raised bed that measures 8' long, 4' wide, and 2 1/4 ft tall. Another rasied bed is attached to it that measures 4' long 2' wide and 2 ft tall. I loosened the top 4 inches and removed about 2 inches, then I lined it with galvanized steel wire mesh (1/4") I put a lare of back plastics on top of that and then poked about a thousand holes in it and tears all over the place, then I lined the bottom with pebbles and small stone and a wheel barrowful of granite dust mixed with another two wheelbarrows of local soil. I am doing the same thing to both raised beds, and then I will buy planter soil from the local nursery (basically leftovers from other projects) and fill it and mix in ammendments. I will write about that later, for now I will go take pics....

I'm very interested in seeing your raised bed garden. I've ben thinking about a couple myself. Look forward to seeing yours evolve.

Good luck.

everything has halted on this until I can get soil.... sad..... well, I planted tomato seeds and cucumber, melon, and squash, and I already have strawberries and coffee berries coming in strong...

cukes & squash will fill that thing up all by themselves. strawberries should be planted somewhere they can spread cause they come back year after year & get bigger .

bell peppers and tomatoes are going in the big box. cucumbers in the other smaller one. Mellons are going on the hillside allong with squash. Strawberries are out front in the ground (you won't see pics of those unless you know me in person...lol)...... it will all come along when I get soil and sprouts.

I buy some plants but i do start some from seed never done a journal online before but when get it planted i will post pictures.

Have a real good nursery around here & can get 6 tomato plants for .99 so it really isnt worth my time starting some seeds only the ones i cant get from there.

Wish I was so lucky... Im broke and have seeds (none of which have cracked, :(.

But I have found some decent soil right around here, so I am filling the box today... :)

I live in a townhouse condo.

The head of the condo association lives next to me. They fined me $50 last year for planting flowers. So this year I went to the board and asked permission to grow. They said veggies only. So I started corn inside a month ago under a 400 MH. Just planted. Bet she'll like 8 foot corn stocks next to her unit. I'll get some pics up in a few. I still have a little room for tomatoes I got going down stairs.

i never realized how much harder it is to start veggies from seed. I'm a much better pot farmer lol.

Pic as promissed. We'll see how she likes these in a month or two. muhahahahahahahahha:hump::hump::hump:

EDIT: spot gets full sun all day long, oooh yahhhh

if I were her, I would jack your corn, lol.

Well, actually, I would grow my own.... but if I couldn't, yeah, I would be hitting you up trying to trade herb for corn, lol...

HAhahahaha. She's just such a bitch. Scorned old women with nothing to do. I got 3 kids and plenty to do. Definatley no time for the condo games.

But anyway not to jack your thread, I'm gonna start the peppers tonight and hopefully they'll make it out in a month. I'll be watching this for sure to see how it turns out.
