so this is my first time grow and im about 5 weeks in (4 weeks veg 1 week flowering on 12/12) and i grew my 2 plants up to 12 inches then started the 12/12 flowering cycl. my plants are both pretty lanky and havent shown any signs of sex yet, is there any way (lighting or what not) to make it a lil more bushy? at the very top im smellin a lil stank so that makes me a lil happy :bigjoint:

Get your lights closer. chances are they are growing up not out because they are stretching up towards the light. I have a problem with heat so im used to stretching plants.

yes more light lol but the best way is to top you plant once or twice when you were in the veg stage you could try to top it now might help might hinder

my walls were already white which was pretty convienent and yeah im usin all cfls. i think i have some small i guess u could call preflowers goin but probably wont be able to specifically tell for another 5 days or so im guessing. would it harm to trim a pair of fan leaves off? their huge compared to the rest and are hindering light to the bottom part?

Don't know what your growing with, but 6500K light will make for a shorter, bushier plant. More light is always better too, of course.

^^ thats not true. You can in all actually top your plant up to 3 weeks into flowering and have it work just as well as if the plant were still in veg. My last grow i topped my plants twice, and then when i was flowering i decided to top a third time, n they came out fine. There is nothing wrong with topping your plant while it is still in the infantile stages of flowering - your not interrupting bud production or anything like that as long as you do it early on. Topping will take care of the lanky problem, so top her at any node you want basically if you want her to be bushier, and itll actually only take a few days for the branches to grow back n resume flowering.

good luck man :D
