Lake County 'right to grow plants' proposed ballot measure should be state wide...

From what I've seen people who end up in prison or in jail for a long time due to things related to drug use come out way worse than when they went in.

If you look at drug use rates during the drug war Vs before the drug war then it's pretty obvious all the drug war has done is make drugs more profitable for organized crime. The cartels are much worse than the American mob that gained power as a result of alcohol prohibition. Al Capone took over one city. The Cartels have taken over a whole country, and parts of several others. That is all because of prohibition.
and such could have been largely avoided if we had just fought to retain our human rights when massachusetts first moved to outlaw cannabis in 1911 or so...

ps...we revised the title heading to this:

County of Lake, State of California
'The Freedom to Grow Plants, Human Rights Restoration Act of 2014'

An Ordinance to restore the self evident Human Right to grow and use plants for the basic necessities of life

its hard for me to imagine a more ridicules statement than yours above...but i'll play along DK because clearly we all need you to educate us in this self evident matter, so what does the 'basic necessities of life' mean?

Really? You don't know what that is?

Food, shelter, water, clothing. Cannabis is NOT required to live. As much as I love it, it IS a luxury for 99% of us.

Unless you cancer, aids, or epilepsy then it's unlikely you need cannabis to survive.

Cannabis legalization falls into the category of a liberty, not an essential need for most people. It should be legal because of the Constitutional promise of liberty, not because you're going to die if you can't grow it.

What do you know about people living with chronic pain? What do you know about prescription pain killers killing more people than car accidents?

not much..

No, YOU are "something". He didn't say that. You don't seem to listen to what people are saying. You keep hearing what you want to hear. He said that you don't need cannabis to live. Not ALL plants. And of course I am aware of all of it's potential. So what? That the needs it fulfills can be met with other sources, including other plants, makes it not a necessity to live.

And so he missed chronic pain. His point is the same. That there are very very few people who actually NEED cannabis to live.

The human body can live on nothing but rice, water, and oxygen in a strait-jacket, it does not mean it is healthy.

When we talk about healthy living and proper life-styles which allow us to live without a crippling disease, we can address the true issues.. Some people will argue that they need the effects of cannabis to live a "normal life" and they should be protected in doing so.

I agree cannabis can used to effectively treat a lot of ailments. Wasn't saying otherwise.

I was responding to the comment about cannabis was something you would literally die without. That's only true for a small amount of people.

Some how this got twisted into I said people don't need plants at all and cannabis has no medical benefits. Not sure how that happened, but I said nothing similar to that.

.......its about humans needing plants to live........

Thats called 'symbiosis'
......hard to digest the whole concept

-plants are smarter than us
...we need them as much as they need us....balance-

-we need plants/oxygen
-plants need us carbon dioxide (co2)

the best nutrient for a plant is the gardeners shadow-

-plants dictate everything 'man' does
-man has fought wars over plants.....
-killed
-lied ...cheated....stolen
-pillaged
-murdered

...plants dictate everything we do
we need them for food ...shelter....clothing....

we have been chasing the benefits of plants for millennium.....

spices
sugar
tobacco
medicine
coca
opium

and now the magic plant itself.......Reefer!:weed:

And they are still waging war on us over it
.....even among the ones that hold the plant

perfect logic-

divide and conquer

hegillian dialectic

same way they did the other plants

peace-----:joint:

I use cannabis to live a 'normal' life--whatever that is nowadays .....

I love how you keep just saying plants as if there is no distinctions to be made about different types of plants. Like the government is going to kick in the door and make sure you don't have a fern growing. Like growing opium is the same as growing carrots. And as if there is some serious threat out there who's maliciously trying to ban all plant life.

What's particularly insane is the idea of regulations on any sort of plant somehow turns into banning plant life in general.

I'm going to leave you alone for now out of fear that someone might think I'm insane just for talking to you.
