Ladybugs and Aphids

Do Ladybugs work well against Aphids ?

I had a small infestation of aphids on the growing tip of a plant. I paid my daughter a euro a ladybird and we released 5 into the growing room on the same plant. Within a couple of days no aphids. One of the ladybirds got itself caught and eaten by a spider and the other four i let go when i knew all aphids were dealt with. I will do the same again if any pests arrive. Highly recommend the use of predators in any garden.
