doc looking good there, trying out the dwc i see...lol, them dwc club bastards got me too, seems the benefits from dwc to soil are worth the transfer, everyone has their own style of growing, some claim theirs is the best i say pffft, each to their own, all that matters is that it works for the individual, temps, RH, nutes everyones are different but if it works for the individual then great, i'm currently using ebb n flow but after this grow i'll be switching to dwc,
nice job on the tote, my question is, is that going to be just for clones or used for full grow, i only ask because it looks a lil crowded there for a full grow for 12

Yea it will be for a full grow. I'm experimenting kind of for the main picture. Theirs 9 in one tote I eventually want to run 4 totes with 9 plants in each and do a 0 veg SOG style grow, cutting clones and switching out containers every 2 weeks. This is just one tote I'm going to do to get use to the water culture and estimates on yields with the current strains/setup. Sort of a baseline for what I want my final setup to be.

Confusing avatars indeed LOL. I was wondering what yours was but then was answered without asking. I will be installing one these keep alive systems in my current reservoir before I cut my the 9 clones going in. Won't be long now my most vigorous RBC is exploding with grow shoots right now. Will post some picture updates either tonight or sometime tomorrow. Being lazy right now been raining and storming all day.

OMG WTF! So I've had my 250watt MH on 24/0 since I hung it up and all. I went down and cut power to it, Went in the bloom room snapped some pics and looked at some trich's with mini scope. Come back out and hook the timer 18/6 to the 250 MH and turn it all on. It lights a very blue dim light for a few minutes then went bright(not how it normally did) and then it quit now just does the dim blue light I switched surge protectors it was hooked to and removed the timer and is just the dim blue light.

Someone please help me out I have super tight node spacing and this my mother/clone area other room is 12/12.

Is the ballast or the bulb? It was all working fine just before, what went wrong? It's a HTGsupply 250 watt magnetic ballast. It's only about a month old the whole system is same age as the plants. I have it all turned off for the momment. Could the bulb be loose what would cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oye, you gotta let that ballast and all shut off for at least five to ten minutes and then turn it back on. Had the same problem with my 1000 watt scared me too. let me know if it comes back on correct. does yours have an option for what voltage to run? maybe you switched it somehow?

Okay well my LA's in flower room a few of them got some nutrient burn 1 is kinda bad and other is not burned bad and the others look fine and green. Do you guys think I should flush the two that are burned? Do I do it now or when they are ready to be watered again?

As for the HID issue. The bulb is done for and I threw the smaller of the 2 RBC's into the flower room and put CFL's on the other RBC and 2-Ice plants. Then today after work I bought a new 250watt MH bulb which has the fat middle part unlike my old bulb. I sent my old bulb off for replacement just to have as a spare and will use this new one it seems to be brighter. So everything is back in working order. I was freaking yesterday, been having a string of bad luck but it's getting better. Wish I hadn't of burnt my plants this far into flower(Some pistils changing red/brown now), but oh well they should be okay. Today is day 30 of flowering for the 5 LA's and Day 1 for the Raspberry cough.

Thanks for the concern Niko, everything is back on track.

Dang we may end up harvesting our RBC around the same time bro, should be some dang fine smoking. What brand bulb was that first one out of curiosity? oh and do you happen to remember where you ordered your 250 from? hoping I might be able to run that wattage next go without heat issues.
Oh and It couldn't hurt to flush them now case it gets worse. Psh of course I have concern lol I wanna compare the finished product

Not sure of the brand of the first bulb. It's being replaced through the warranty. It came in plain white box and was included I got the 250watt HTGSupply magnetic grow light set with reflector and everything $140 shipped. If I were you I would get the 400($150) or 600($210) another $45 and get air cooled hood and another $80-90 for good extraction fan will keep temps in check. The 250 watt gets hotter than my 600 because it is not air cooled. I keep the 250MH about 12-14" over canopy. I keep the 600HPS around 8-9" from tops.

The lumen output for a 250 wouldn't be ideal for 4 plants if your going to bud them. It's like 20-21K Lumens

Hmm good to know, I wish I could still use my 1000 watt switchable but couldn't keep the temps in check in that small closet. Supposedly the best bulb out there is manufactured by Hortilux, spos to have the most lumen output and best light spectrum. Haven't tried it myself as they are one something a piece per bulb (at least for the 1000 watt it was) hopefully this bulb works out for you though bro.
If you get a chance swing by my grow and tell me what you think. Yesterday I trimmed off the lower third of growth on all the plants as there was zero pistil formation. hoping that it keeps me from getting a ton of popcorn buds and channels all that growth into some nice dense dank bud.

Trimming the bottom 1/3 should produce you some great dense top buds bro.

The damn power just went out like ten minutes ago(went off and came right back on). I went down to check out the OP and the tent wasn't on(the new 250MH) So I turned it off just waiting now. These magnetic ballasts suck in my opinion this is my first. My 600HPS digital ballast was on no problem. So what do you guys do for your magnetics incase of power outage. After I harvest I plan on getting a generator. Do you guys know of a battery pack or something? Or should I just keep buying these expensive bulbs over and over LOL I knew I should of shelled out the extra $120 for a digital ballast, I just didn't want to pay that much for a 250watter. I may be going to HO T5 fixtures for mom and veg in the future. I love the growth under the MH though but this is getting ridiculous I have a lot of personal stuff going on, my dog has 3 slipped discs in her back, she is on all kinds of medication and can't hardly walk and may have cancer for the 2nd time. Also my basement flooded a few days ago and 2 plants taking it bad(2 of the bigger ones looks like yield will be affected) only a month or less to go :(

I'm still hanging in there. Hopefully I go down in an hour turn the MH back on and it works fine, Oh and the power stays on without interruption.

Okay well left it off for about an hour turned back on and the 250watt MH is working fine. I have to go to the hydro shop tomorrow and get a little more soil as the other Ice is ready to transplant too. I transplanted the other Ice yesterday.

Ouch, sounds like the storms got you too. You know I honestly think it may be the brand of bulb and ballast you went with. I bought my 1000 watt switchable from my local shop (Texas Hydroponics) I believe they build there own ballasts and I've never had a problem past waiting five minutes before turning back on. Check out there website they have an independent study of magnetic and digital and in the end the general consensus is that magnetic was a better ballast because the tightly wrapped magnetic coils maintained a better power flow with less flickering than digital (or something like that) Either way I would look around online and see if you can get other peoples reviews on the company you bought from maybe it's just there ballasts.

Outside of a generator the only thing I can think of would be to shill out the money for some solar panels maybe?

Ouch, my childhood dog was like that he got to about 18 years old was blind, deaf had tumors and finally jumped out of my second floor bedroom. Tough bastard still survived for another year lol. I'm sure your dog will make it through alright.

Yeah she is nine. Seems to be doing better on the meds. She has survived cancer once already(surgery years ago) and been through some other stuff. She's definitely got the heart and love to be around a long time.

I got the Ice transplanted today, Trimmed some bad leaves off of my LA's from the flooding. Got my hydroton and some grodans 1.5" stater plugs and some 1/4" tees and 2 more air stones. DWC be up and going soon waiting for one more piece to come in. Looks like I'll be harvesting in another 35 or less days. The one RBC in the flower room looks great.

I have some bugs in my soil in the LA's also I think they are harmless springtails but not sure yet. They don't seem to want to go on the plants but kind of look like spider mites, but I never see mites in soil their usually under the leaves and usually their are signs of damage so we'll see. The azamax doesn't seem to affect them much.

I'll try and post up some pictures tonight or tomorrow. Man these Sativa RBC's are already growing roots out the bottom of my 3 gallon grow bags and their it's only been a month since they were delivered.
