Kief Extraction

Hi there!

I'm extracting kief from shake in a 1500 gram pollen tumbler using dry ice. I have had some problems where the kief seems too moist and is clumping. Apart from drying my shake more does anyone have any suggestions? Would adding more dry ice help or hurt the process? Maybe less shake? Any advice is helpful, I'm new to this...

What is the relative humidity in your workspace?

I'm not sure. Im in southern oregon and the humidity percent on the weather app says 45%
I’m wondering if your kief is below dew point. Does it unclump once it warms up? If so, you can avoid the problem by choosing a cold dry day for operations.

I've tried sticking in a room with a dehumidifier and then running it through the pollen tumbler again and this gets the job done but greatly reduces the yield.

Dehumidifiers “run out of steam” at highish dew points. I think you’ll have more success if you choose low-humidity weather. If you’re on the coast, that won’t happen very often.
