Kids buying case fans

So I'm at work today (I own a computer store/repair center) and these two kids come in asking about case fans. I ask them what size they need and they looked bumfuzzled, confused, and maybe a little worried.

I grab a 120mm fan and show it to the two. They both jump on it saying "yea, that's the one, that's the size!". I ask them if they are sure because they don't fit in most cases. I've had them forever and a few of them were about to find their way into my new veg cabinet. They assure me it'll work and hurry along the checkout process.

Well, I asked for their name, address, and phone number and they freaked. It was for a drawing to give away a dualcore AMD machine this Christmas but they said they didn't have to give me shit if they were paying in cash and rushed out of the store with their fan and receipt.

At that moment I had to laugh because I know what they were going to do with these fans! Reminded me of the first time I went and bought a bunch of CFL's, bathroom exhaust fan, potting soil, pots, etc.! I just knew everybody in the store was on to me.

ahhhh, paranoia. The good ol' days ;)

or like

I think you could have sold them a few more bits to be honest, you could have asked them if they wanted the biggest case that is made today, this case has more room inside it. Oh and you would you like anything else to go in it.

Great story. That reminds me of a story. When i first started growing my roommate and I were at home depot looking for some fluoro tubes and we weren't sure what to get so it was taking us a while. The dude working in the electrical department see's us there looking at these lights for like 5 minutes and comes over to see if we need a hand. I immediately reply, No thanks i'm cool bro, and the dude says okay and leaves. A few minutes later that dude see's that we are still there looking at these lights and comes over a second time and says to us " You know, i have a friend that grows plants indoors, and he uses cool white and warm white together".
That was some funny shit. LMAO!

We do a fair share. We're the only shop for 70 miles who'll take apart a laptop so we get a lot of broken dc jack repair referrals. It's time consuming and expensive but there are people willing to shell out the $$$ for the service. I like money. These people make me happy :)

I've got tons of salvage fans out of power supplies and scrapped computers. I can get BIG fans too. I'm using a couple in my op from external SCSI HD/CD banks and tape backup drives. One fan I'm using is rated at 275cfm and I believe it. It's a 24v fan and it'll pull enough air to move vegetation in my 40cf cab (minus the room for the 99litre reservoir!). I was afraid it was going to suck the leaves off the plants at first!
