Kentucky State Senator Perry Clark hsa submitted Senate Bill 129. The Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Bill.
According tp the Kentucky Legislative website the bill reads as follows:
AN ACT relating to medical marijuana.
Amend and create various statutes in KRS Chapter 218A to make marijuana a schedule II drug with the limitation that a person for whom the drug has been prescribed may not possess more than five grams per month of the drug or have under cultivation more than five marijuana plants; create a new section of KRS Chapter 315 to require the Board of Pharmacy to establish a certification program for pharmacies seeking to dispense marijuana; designate this Act as the Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Act.
Since the average medical marijuana user uses between 3/4 to 1.25 ounces a week, either the 5 grams are a misprint or the bill will have to be amended. At least now Kentucky's sick and disabled have a Bill to hang their hats on and it couldn't be better named.

Kentucky State Senator Perry Clark has filed Senate Bill 129 the Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Act. It calls for the rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II which allows it to be prescribed by a doctor. The State Pharmacy Board will be responsible for setting up rules for prescribing and dispensing.
Time for those who support Medical Marijuana in Kentucky to get to work. On Monday the bill will be sent to judiciary and we must watch for it to come up so we can flood the meeting. You can follow the bills progress at the Kentucky Legislative website-
http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/12RS/SB129.htm
In the mean time you can do the following---
Go to the Kentucky Legislative website at this page-
http://www.lrc.ky.gov/whoswho/email.htm
This page lists all the members of the Kentucky General Assembly and their E-mail addresses. Senators on the left Representatives of the House on the right. Kind of appropriate don't you think! Using this list it is relatively easy to write every member of the assembly every day. The members who have e-mail addresses with @lrc.ky.gov you can write directly. I put all these in my address book and send them all at once. The names with a (click here) button bring up a form that you fill out. After the first you can just click your way through the rest. Then paste in your letter and hit submit information, go back to the list and click up the next legislator. I usually am able to write everybody in a few hours.
If we can flood the Senate with mail asking them to pass the bill and the House with letters calling for passage of a companion bill maybe we can accomplish something. I've had many people tell me that my writing the assembly would not accomplish anything, but here we are. Senator Perry honored me by calling me personally when he filed the bill. If we write every chance we can and keep it up we may just do it! One thing is sure, if we do nothing, nothing will happen. Below are 2 sample letters that you can use. If you know or have a personal relationship with a particular Legislator, add that in your letter. You can write all of the legislators. You are not restricted to only writing your own. I write all of them, and often!
Senate letter sample-
Dear Sir, (or Madam)
I am writing today to ask you to co-sponsor, support and pass Senate Bill 129 The Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Act which was recently filed by Senator Perry Clark. This bill will at last make available an effective medicine that is sorely needed by our sick and disabled citizens. Current polling shows medical marijuana with a 87% favorable rating among the citizens. In addition this bill will create jobs and economic activity that will improve the lives of all Kentucky's citizens. In this light I am again urging you to co sponsor, support and pass this bill. Let us not prolong the suffering we can alleviate by having compassion for our fellow citizens.
And the House letter-
Dear Sir, (or Madam)
Senator Perry Clark has filed Senate Bill 129 The Gatewood Galbraith Memorial Medical Marijuana Act for the purpose of making legally available this effective medicine sorely needed by Kentucky's sick and disabled citizens. In addition this bill will create jobs and economic activity that will benefit all Kentucky's citizens.
I am writing you today to urge you to propose, support and pass a companion bill to Senate Bill 129 and let us not prolong the suffering that we can alleviate by having compassion for our fellow citizens.

This is getting nearly ZERO mainstream press time. This is a good opportunity for the PRO-MARIJUANA community to step up and made our voices heard!!

How is that? Can u see into the future? Do u have a time machine? Doubt it so support it if for no other reason than to get more exposure and reasonable conversations about medical cannabis.
